I don't know how many of you caught it on hbo the last couple of nights, but it is one of the best comedy shows I have seen in a while. the skit about how golf was invented had me rolling for a good ten minutes.

Anybody else catch it? Did you love or hate it?

Its good to hear that he is doing good stand up again . . I missed it... don't have cable.

But I know he sure became unfunny after he stopped doing coke . . . maybe this spate of bad guy films fortells that he is trying to get out of his sentimental unfunny phase . . . I hope so another Patch Adams . . I would forget that he ever was funny at all....

He was just one of many who stopped doing coke and became immediately unfunny. Chevy Chase is an even better example. Dan Aykroyd too.

i thought he was pretty good. but not as great as i expected. i saw an old standup of his a few years ago that just killed me. this one wasn't spectacular.

While it was no Steven Wright skit, it was funny. It was a lot better than he has been for some time now. Who knows, maybe he's back on coke? But, it wasn't bad. I wasn't expecting much, but it kept me entertained.

Ugh. Mr. Williams ranks up there in a solid third with "The Five People I Just Don't Get" category (Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, John Travolta and Sharon Stone being the other four).

Never thought he was funny in any way, shape or form. Simply annoying and spastic.

He makes me nervous and edgy and I go out of my way to avoid any movies he's in, interviews he's on (although I did force myself to stomach through the James Lipton "Inside the Actor's Studio" episode, just so I could watch two of my most-reviled human beings play off each other for 90 minutes...kinda like a good train wreck, you know? Can't help but look at, even though you know you should run screaming for help...).

Sitting through a stand-up routine of his (as manic, over-the-top and "trying too hard" as he gets) would simply be torture for me.

as a big fan of his old stuff, i thought he was pretty damn funny the other night. the great thing about robin is that he can make this sh!t up as he goes along and never do the same stuff twice. i liked the golf bit too, as well as the olestra and viagra bits.
