Movies YOU would like to see be made

This thread is a break from all the religious BS and bashing threads, the political semantics threads, the international bickering threads, and anti-<insert country here> threads. What movie would you like to see be made? They could be remakes, original ideas, anything.

My picks:

A live action Transformers movie with modern CGI and dark under-tones.

A remake of the Dino D. adaptation of DUNE done right. This time it will be canonical.

A space epic not focused on the technology aspect but a deep plot. And no aliens. Humans are much more fascinating and dangerous.

An adaptaion of a book I just read called 'The Chronoliths'. Good psuedo scifi.

The <a href="http://www.stahl.bau.tu-bs.de/~hildeb/watchmen/"; target="_blank">DC Comics/Alan Moore Watchmen</a> series. Terry Gilliam had the rights but Hollywood wouldn't give him free reign of creative control...damn, that would be a great film if in the right hands. Gilliam's great.

I just read chronoliths too.... I kinda enjoyed it.

I'd like to see a multi hour grand piece in the style of Bella Tar's SatanTango, of the new book by Ian Pears called The Dream Of Scipio,

good book spanning three major historical epochs. Could be done in the style of Heimat or even Bergman.

    Also, more good SCI FI!!!

I really like long films that take their time: imagine a multi part epic of the Foundation Books of Asimov.

Also maybe Vernor Vinge Fire In the Deep or the other one with a similar title.

Also, a Terry Gilliam version of DeLillo's White Noise would be good.

    Hell yes Neal Stephenson rocks!

    [quote]The DC Comics/Alan Moore Watchmen series <hr></blockquote>

    Yes...

I would also like to see The Forever War by Joe Haldeman turned into a movie.

The rights to a new Transformers movie was actually just recently purchased. Rumors are floating that it IS "live action". Hope springs eternal.

I'd love to see a real Star Wars movie be made again

A live-action adaptation of Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns", about a old and gray Batman coming out of "retirement" to kick some thug butt.

OR, go the opposite way and do a Batman "prequel", showing how Bruce Wayne came to be, early costume attempts, etc.

The only thing: Joel Schumaker can have NOTHING whatsoever to do with it. These would be dark, moody and serious takes on the Batman story. NOT neon, gaudy, campy and cheesy (like Schumaker's two entries in the Batman saga).

Hell, I wouldn't even want Tim Burton doing them because his stuff is kinda silly too.

    I mean SERIOUS!

Other than that, I think a sequel to "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (with the original cast, approapriately aged now) would be interesting. Spicoli grew up to be a chain-smoking "serious actor", etc.

Hell yeah. I think it would be even better if Spicoli was a Senator or some other elected official. You could show some campaign footage of him saying "I didn't inhale" or some such thing.

Yes, good choice. There is a Batman vs. Superman movie in the works...

    Frank Miller's

<a href="http://members.tripod.com/ComradesInArms/comics/miller/sincity.htm"; target="_blank">Sin City</a> though would be my first FM film adaptation. Gritty, hard-boiled and in black and white.

Oh, speaking of <a href="http://4colorreview.com/rewind_reviews/hard_boiled/hard_boiled.shtml"; target="_blank">Hard Boiled</a> that's another FM one too I'd like to see...call George Lucas!

    Maybe <a href="http://www.paulpope.com"; target="_blank">Paul Pope's</a> stuff too...

    1) Battlestar Galactica

    2) My life. Seriously, my life is like a movie. It's so fvcked up. Sometimes I can just imagine people watching it as a movie and it would be pretty good. Actually I'll be in video tech class this school year and just might do it. I got the Office Space moments, Jay and Silent Bob moments, serious moments, dramatic sports moments, etc. Damn, what a great movie that would be.

    3) Ferris Beuller 2

    4) A movie about an IT guy that works in a big server room. Those guys are really funny or total bastards; good movie characters.

LotR made it to the big screen. How about a trilogy involving the Shannara novels by Terry Brooks?.

Yes! We are sooo overdue for a Battlestar Galactica movie.

My choices would be a movie based on Roger Zelazny's Amber Series, and another Conan movie done in the same rugged, brutal style of first Conan the Barbarian, instead of the comicy, PG13 sequals that came after it. I'm talkin' "Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of the women!"
