Rangers 17. Yankees 6.

I was at the game last night and it was without a doubt the best $12 I have ever spent. I was in the front row of the centerfield bleachers. So if any of you watched SportsCenter today, you saw me several (approx. 3) times. It was a great game. 33 hits, 7 home runs, and the Rangers hit 6 doubles in the second inning (ties the record). Alas, I am back home in Portland now.

Excellent job by the Rangers last night.

Too bad the Red Sox have to stop their winning streak tonight.

Yeah, it really pisses me off seeing people that know nothing about baseball wearing Yankees stuff or liking the Yankees. I'm 99% sure that if the Yankees didn't win 4 out of 6 championships in the last 6 years or if they didn't have Derek Jeter those people would wear Yankees stuff.

a shit load of runs does NOT make a great game...

it's people like you that only watch baseball for the offense and help destroy the game (ie smaller parks, bigger hitters, juiced balls, etc). its becoming a joke now when you turn on the tv w/ scores like 15-10 or 20-12. this isn't football!!! its baseball, with DEFENSE. a great game is something like 2-1, 4-3, or even 6-5. a blowout with 23 combined runs is NOT a good game. people who say pitchers deuls are boring amuse me to no end. a one-sided game actually bores me more than a tight game ever would. yes, there were a lotta runs scored, but it is still NOT a good game. maybe YOU are entertained, but it is still NOT a good game. understand?? people like you only watch the game for the runs scored and not pitching or defense. turning this game into a joke...

i'm sorry, but i love this game too much to let something like this slide. blowouts suck. they are interesting for a little while, but there is no suspense. where's the drama?? where are the clutch plays?!?! ugh...

Hey, I play varsity baseball so I do know how to take the game seriously. But I was on vacation and it was fun to have so much action literally happening ten feet away from me. There were plenty of great catches too (on the Rangers side). I am asuming you didn't watch this game. The pitchers threw poorly but the rest of the defense was fine. It is fun to have a blowout once in a while. And the atmosphere was great and our section wouldn't stop heckeling Bernie Williams, it was fun. It was just shocking to see the Rangers kill the Yankees. This kind of game is just not something you see every day. Jesus _alliance_, lighten up and have some fun.

im a pitcher. blowouts are not my friend... (and my team doesnt exactly score many runs). getting 10-run ruled gets old, even at the college level. the wrong things are emphasized these days. thats my point...

hitting is the only thing that matters now...

also, i live in houston (when im not here in college). watching astros games here has gotten pathetic. scores of 12-7 DAILY. sickening...

As of now the Astros are beating the Mets 3-1 in the top of the 9th. Is that better for you?

thats only cause its over there in New York. if it was here in our pathetic excuse for a stadium (think arena baseball), it would be more like 13-11.

also, that game had 2 of the best pitchers in the national league starting. those matchups are rare...

today is the exception, not the standard, for the way the game is played these days...

I just wanna clear something up. My last post came out wrong, it makes me seem like I like the high scoring games. I don't, I totally agree with you _ alliance _ .

2 days in a row? Holy crap. I guess the Rangers might finally be playing up to their potential. I mean, they have tons of hitting power and it seems to be coming together. Or maybe they are just using the momentum from last night. I do think it is weird how scores seem to keep going up though. Maybe MLB should crack down on steroid use. I think games that have around ten runs for the winning team are the best. Sort of a balance between good offense and good defense. I also like games that end with a score of 1-0 or 2-1. Those are good games too. Come to think of it, I just like baseball

This is good for the Red Sox. I went to the Monday game (Angels vs Red Sox) and they lost. I should have picked either of the next two nights to go.
