What a sad, pathetic human being...

Okay, JUST so I could comment on it legitimately, I forced myself to watch the first episode of Anna Nicole Smith's new "reality" show on E!

We are in the final days.

I'll comment later once my head stops spinning and I can see straight again.

I watched the promovids at the suggestion of someone from MacNN and it is laughable, and yes very pathetic.. Who would put an overweight, retarded never-was on television to bend over and talk about porno? .. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

    This Anna Nicole Smith is a real hick <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> ..

Did you see the clip of the dog humping the teddy bear? I have to admit, I think thats pretty funny, but....

oh forget it theres no sense in bashing this anymore, it's not even worth it

I just don't get this one at all. Even people I don't like, I can still acknowledge their contributions or talent or whatever (Madonna, Ozzy, etc.).

There's some level of accomplishment and a REASON they're in the public eye or people would want a peek into their private life. And even Ozzy, in his own idiotic, befuddled way, has a charm about him.

Even though I don't like it and am not a fan, I can understand the appeal and success of his show.

    But Anna Nicole Smith?

I'll never understand this one. Some dipshit at E! is just reaching. It's so obvious. And it's SO obvious that she's been coached or "encouraged" to play up the dumbass, slurring "where am I, what am I doing" schtick because "it works for Ozzy".

Ozzy has a few more decades of hard living and chemical flirtations to account for his particular state. Sadly, his bumbling and incoherence is probably all too real.

But I ain't buying it from this bubblehead.

And here's the thing: ever chance she gets/got, she gets all teary-eyed and sad over her dead husband (that rich guy that was about 200 years old). In interviews, she goes on and on about how she DID indeed really love him and that it was a real marriage, etc. She even cried and carried on during the trial.

But yet, the animated opening credits of her stupid show undercut ALL that because it totally mocks and makes light of that situation, showing her marrying (in animated form) this old man, then he dies, and she's suddenly in black, crying, then all this money comes falling down, etc.

    It's sick.

She's one of those rare people with no redeeming qualities. No talent. No skills. Hasn't contributed to art, music, entertainment, culture, film, etc. Has no brain. Is whiny, shallow and ugly (I don't mean physically, although...).

Saddest of all, enough hipster idiots and college twits will think this show is "really cool" and campy enough and will organize big publicized "viewing parties" and will put this show into the top 10.

    Mark my words...

She's obviously stoned out of her mind. Just look at her doing the interview bits (no makeup, "No stalker" t-shirt on) and when she's out on her house hunt. She is completely toasted! While I do think she's pretty stupid, what we saw wasn't stupid, it was high.

Anyway, I'll watch it until the "let's make fun of the fat, stoned girl" gets old. 2 more eps maybe?

There was a Sox game on so I missed the show itself, but I was engrossed with the E! Biography show which was on just before...

Yeah, I know! Goes against everything I believe and hold dear.

But, unlike some people out there, I feel the need to at least experience and hear/view for myself that which I about to rag on.

If I judged this show by the promos only, it wouldn't be fair...although the promos pretty much sum it up and offer a pretty accurate depiction of the full 30 minutes.

Believe me...this was a "one time only" thing, in the interest of accurately/honestly talking about it.

    I've seen enough. Ugh.

Want to know what's funny? I actually had a dream about her last night! No, not one of "those" kind of dreams (yuck!), but she was in the dream and we were at a bank or some sort of big office complex and she was sitting on the floor and yelling at me, in front of everyone. In the dream, I remember thinking "I'm so embarrassed that I'm here...how did she and I end up as friends?".

    Talk about a nightmare...

Stoned or not, she's still a flaming idiot on wheels. It's not even cute or funny (like I've seen Ozzy be at times). It's just annoying! And that idiot lawyer guy hanging around. What a worm. He looks at her and just sees dollar signs/personal fame.

I REALLY hope this show goes down in horrible flames within 30-45 days. I'd love for someone at E! to have to come out at a press conference or interview and say "you know, we should've seen this for the lame, tacky rip-off idea it is. We had no business putting an uninteresting, untalented manatee like Ms. Smith on the air and wasting everyone's time. She ISN'T "outrageous", "cutting edge" or "daring". Hell, she's not even "mediocre". We here at E! offer heartfelt apologies to anyone adversely affected by this program. It goes without saying that our plans to go ahead with similar shows starring Corey Feldman, Gary Coleman and the girl who played Tootie on 'The Facts of Life' have been shelved..."

It's E! If five people watched this train wreck, then that's five more people than they had before.

It is a very sad show, though. It's like watching a drunken Shamu doing drag.

I'm not sure what ANS' size has to do with the merits of the show. So what, she's a bit large - that has nothing to do with the content of the thing.

Yes, I'm sure. "VIP" probably knows it's a campy, sucky show (obvious if you watch 5 minutes of it). But it is what it is. Then next in a long line of "jiggle TV". Whatever.

But Smith's thing is just horrible on SO many levels. You truly get the sense that - in some sick, twisted way - she thinks she's cool and matters, and that she's being cute and "alluring".

    <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

Here's the thing: with Smith, you don't feel any sympathy. You don't like her, you don't care for her and you're not (unlike Ozzy or whoever) kinda "pulling for her" or wanting "things to work out in the end".

With this show, you're just wanting it to be yanked before it has the chance to gain ANY momentum and be declared by the idiots at Entertainment Weekly "high camp entertainment!" and "a side-splitting dose of outrageous TV!!!"

She's just a couple hundred pounds of shameless wasted space.

Again, its only important that she's wasted space (on the tv dial), not that she's wasted space in three dimensions.

By the way, I haven't slammed her on her weight. My final comment above is less about that than the truth.

In other words, if she was 4'5" and weighed 89 pounds, I would've said she's "90 pounds of shameless wasted space".

Her size has nothing to do with her lameness.

ALTHOUGH, she sets herself up for ridicule by wearing some of the stuff she wore and acting the way she does (going out of her way to accentuate her size). If she chooses to be that shameless and oblivious to things (and that tacky), then I can't worry about that...

I don't even dig seeing toned, IN SHAPE women dressing slutty or going with that whole trendy 70's disco whore look that's so big right now.

So it CERTAINLY doesn't work on Anna...

Not me...for this particular scenario I would feel very comfortable about ragging on bubblehead without so much as watching an ad for the show.

Clearly, she needs to be thrown. Where's T?

The show is genius! (and horrifying, of course.) I was in tears practically throughout the entire thing! I don't think we should read too much into it. The show is very funny and that's all it's meant to be. The idea of doing a reality show on her (of all people) is funny in itself. I think E! is being deliberately ironic with this one.

The most disturbing character to me was her lawyer, Howard Stern (yes, that's his name.) What a swarmy, hanger-on dickhead!

I thought is was kinda funny, without the charm of the Osbourns.

    My favorite scene:

Stern: (explaining like Anna's 7 years old.)

"Palestinians are blowing themselves up in like, diners and malls to kill Jews"

Anna: (stoned drawl) "Gawd, isn't that painful?"

    Well, the show's a <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/TV/08/07/television.anna.nicole.reut/index.html"; target="_blank">hit</a> getting more ratings than Ozzie's debut... <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

    Yeah, about what I expected.

However, it's VIEWERS. As demonstrated time and time again, people will watch anything.

I was more impressed by the remarks of the critics in the article, who more closely echoed the sentiments of myself and others here.

I do this show will be successful...but for all the wrong reasons. NOT because it's actually good or anything (that would be asking too much, apparently). No, because the same people who somehow deem all other lame things "hip" and "cool" will apply it to this show as well.

And the average brainless viewer will thumb through their US or Entertainment Weekly and suddenly read all the hype/praise and feel they're "missing out", and will start to watch it in spite of themselves.

    Lame...

    People just don't get it.

This has been hyped a lot more than The Osbournes first was.

What will be this show's ultimate demise is that it has no redeeming value, there is nothing under the surface to cling to. With The Osbournes you can easily see that Ozzy cares about his kids, but with this overhyped trailer whore... I don't know.

But there I ago again, assuming those kinds of standards matter while Jerry Springer still makes money.

i caught a couple of commercials for the "show" over the past few weeks. i thought it was a joke. i didn't really think they were gonna make a show outta the ****ing whore. but, on the other hand, its obvious from seeing just the 30 secs of it that its gonna be shit. i dont know why 4 million people watched it, but let's be grateful that there are only 4 million idiots in the country. that leaves like 260 million half-decent minded. if anyone is stupid enough to not realize that anna smith's show is gonna be horrible, then they deserve to watch it.
