Hmm, I've been watching the US Open for a bit now, unfortunately the women's side is all men now. I believe Jennifer Capriati lost. Darn! Also Hantuchova and Justine Henin (wanted her to win it) are both gone. SO that leaves Serena, Mauresmo, Venus, Davenport I believe.



If you weren't watching El Anyaoui was coming back on brat boy Hewitt but ended up losing the tie break, so unfortunately I think the Moroccan sensational will be gone this next set. He broke Hewitt too then looked as though he got real tight. Those passing shots were the shit, but you're 6'4 and can't even get a half-ass lob of his!



Sampras-Rodick is tonight, that should be a good one. I predict Rodick wins cause Pete is really past his time. Who else is left on the men's side? I know Kuerten lost, Gustavo is the man!



Now I feel like playing.



And yes Anders, this is tennis.

    hey, at least the ATP wasn't going to strike and at least tennis doesn't have a huge case of steroid usage. Same can't be said for other sports...

    I really like the mano a mano aspect of tennis, playing and watching. The only other major sport I can think of that has it is boxing, which I just can't get into.

    I fear the days of Pete vs. Andre in titanic major championship battles is over already. Was great while it lasted, just too bad Andre dropped out of sight during the Brook years (if I remember right).



    He should be in the "Talent vs. Real Good" thread: he would quailfy as "Enormous talent but little work ethic until later stages of career". As a result he mostly made camera commercials.

    No way. Just a little luck is all it takes; I guess I spoke too soon. I'm glad for it! Now I know what I'll spend part of my day doing (even though it's beautiful outside). Or night. Not sure what time it is on....
