Hving lived in Australia for a year I can tell you Sir Mac, its a beautiful country and the people are real friendly!

Must Do's are the usual touristy things like - Sydney Opera House - try this link and enjoy ...

    <a href="http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/virtual_tour/vrtour2.html"; target="_blank">http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/virtual_tour/vrtour2.html</a>;

Harbour Bridge climb, and the New ~Year Fireworks display in Sydney is NOT to be missed!

Also Sydney Mardi Gras is fun to watch.

Also - Uluru (Ayers Rock) , Kings Canyon

Devils Marbles and Pinnacles (not far from Perth) The view of Perth from Kings park is especially good.

Try Bungee jumping up in Cairns, Skydiving at Mission Beach, Crocodile hunting from Darwin, Great Ocean Road tour from Melbourne.

If your into fishing try Marlin fishing on the indian ocean.

Watch out for the Red Back spiders, nasty stuff!

Loads more I could tell you but have to rush, fill you in later

If she has the time and is able to, she should try and see an AFL final. The atmosphere is unbelievable.

Great Ocean Road (Victoria) is a wonderfully scenic drive - she can look out for the twelve apostles too!

All other typical tourist sites seem to have been well covered above.

This is indeed a beautiful country!

How silly you are, Sir Mac have a special room in his castle for you, it's dark, wet cold and located in the lowest part of his building. The only friends that you can get there are rats. Be cautious if Sir Mac ask to visit him ...

So that's where grover hangs out!

Besides, I normally have to pay a dominatrix to spend time in a dungeon.

Mr Powerdoc, Mr RodUK! How are ye?!

Castle Mac's dungeon suite is closed for redecoration jist noo; wi' the floors getting a fresh coat o' crimson paint tae disguise the stains. However it will be available again soon for recalcitrant members, global evildoers and nefarious ne'er-do-weels o' all kinds. The Lady MotI will be on hand tae administer a wee bit domination wi' newly rewired electrodes and obligatory stiletto heels. Bread and water served alternate weekdays. Scones and jam Sundays. Nae rattling chains or groaning after 6pm. All proceeds tae charity.

My wilful wife will, o' course, be dominating Australia for a few weeks soon, which will gie me a welcome interlude frae subjugation. She'll gie that croc hunter laddie something tae shout 'Crikey' aboot a' right!

MiMac, Xenu, Mac+!... Many thanks for all the links and info. My wee 7200's fair set tae burst wi' a' that stuff! It strikes me that Australia is a land o' boundless opportunity and that I could maybe turn this tae my advantage by following my McAncestors tae Botany Bay and stepping ashore as Black Mac the Bushranger; plunderer o' trains, mailcoaches, damsels and bullion vans.

    Sir-

Needed to bring this post back on top and give you some real info. I know Perth very well as I have been there several times. It's really a nice city and the climate is great. Since she's going to be there for the holidays it will be hot there. I would suggest going down to Fremantle and eating at a fish and chips place there and grabbing a nice cold ginger beer (I dont know the exact name but it's the palce on the docks that everyone goes to). Downtown Perth there are lots of shops, I think Hay Street is where most of the stuff is. If you cross the Swan River on the highway, you can go to the Perth Zoo which is a very good zoo. But of course, why go there when you can go and see the animals in their natural habitat? Just north on the highway from Perth is a place called Whitman Park, where you can hike and literally get up close with animals. How could I forget Yanchep, that is a MUST for her to visit. They actually have a golf course there where kangaroos interfere with play. Burswood Casino is close to downtown.....for beaches my grandmother lived about 2 minutes away from Cottesloe beach. Swanbourne has a nude beach. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot but if I remember I'll be sure to post it in this thread.

Oh my, how could I forget these:

About Fremantle, there is an indoor crocodile park I've been to that is really cool, and there is also a marine right next to it I believe. Also there are a few maritime musems.

Rotnest Island is a definite must. There is a ferry from the Fremantle dock that goes to Rotnest Island. This is a small island off the coast of Perth where you can find the world's only quokas. They are marsupial animals who are endangered I think. You can cycle around the island too, or take a tour bus. I always loved going there.

AND OF COURSE THERES PASTIES AND SAUSAGE ROLLS!
