If you care, rally the fans and save a good show.

First WitchBlade and now Farscape. There's hardly anything worth watching now.

    Just heard about this too.

I never got a chance to watch the show, as I dont have sci-fi. But many people have said that it can hold a candle in the general area of Babylon 5, so it must have been good.

SciFi seems hell bent on canceling everything, even if it is doing well in the ratings.

And during the day they show so much recycled retro stuff like The Prisoner and Fantasy Island.

    Weird.

I really wish I could get all 18 Episodes of "The Prisoner" off TV when they air it. If it really is on Sci-Fi let me know what time they show it. They recently re-ran them on PBS but it was already into Episode 14 when I found out. I really wanna get em all on Tape (too broke right now to just order the VHS/DVD set)

Thanks for the link. I just notified my friend who had Anthony Simcoe (who plays D'Argo on Farscape) read a part in her <a href="http://www.tapeescapes.com"; target="_blank">book on tape "Prop Widow"</a> that she just produced. This is either good news or bad news for her....

Bad news if the fans of the show dissolve into the mists of fandom.

Good news if the fans of the show try to buy anything/everything featuring the actors from the show. Kind of a collector's item thing now I suppose.

Just dl'ed the pilot. Seems like a pretty good show. And I may relegate some space on my hd drive from Babylon 5 to download some more.

Pity that its now been cancled. I love sci-fi's, and to see a good show go is sad and dissapointing. Sometimes I think that with B5 over, and now Farscape canceled, that all the good sci-fi's have come and gone. And all we have left is shows like Enterprise. And drivel like Stargate SG-1.

The Sci-Fi schedules recently changed so they're not showing it right now but they change all the time and repeat stuff alot so they ought to show it again soon. Or at least we can hope.

read the contact info and do something about the pending cancellation of _another scifi classic_ before its time

didn't the paramount/trek experience sink in?

One thing that really annoys me is when a show is cancelled before it has concluded. Take the classic Tripods. They did the first two parts but never filmed the third, concluding installment.

    Here's a post from<a href="http://starburstcards.com/KarlswebNewscape/"; target="_blank"> Karlsweb:</a>

    September 12, 2002:

    Â*

For the second night in a row, Scapers were treated to a rare and wonderful sightÂ? mainstream media coverage of our efforts to save Farscape. Reporter Renay San Miguel of CNN Headline News segment "HotwireÂ? featured a brief report of the web/email based efforts by its fans to save the show.

    Â*

The reporter discussed the situation a with Sci Fi Channel representative that declined to comment about the campaign, indicating that Sci Fi was not issuing any statements at the time. He also described the websites for Save Farscape as receiving over 600,000 hits in the past few days. Messages fromÂ* CNN viewers [Farscape fans] were read as well.

    Â*

Optimism was expressed. It appears this endeavor is being equated or expected to eclipse the letter-writing campaigns of the 1960s to save Star Trek. Additionally, the web mistress for one of the sites featured accredits an earlier fan campaign for La Femme Nikita for getting an extension of that series when it was cancelled.

He finished by reading another message from a viewer that provided her demographics. As we are all aware, this target audience is one that advertisers would salivate over. This is the best possible message to send. Even if Sci Fi does not continue, Farscape, itÂ?s messages like this that will get the corporate response that Farscape really needs.

Farscape is a great Sci-Fi. I was initialy sceptical that it could anywhere near as good as Babylon 5.

But when I heard it was canceled, it peaked my interest and I started dl'ed episodes (as I dont have Sci-Fi) in order.

I am now at the nearing the end of season 2. And I have to say that this has to be one of the greatest Sci-Fi's ever made. It comes really close to Babylon 5.

Its just so exotic, fresh, and intoxicating. The acting is superb, possibly better than Babylon 5. This is showcased in the episode "Out of their Minds" 2x09. When all the character's personalit's are switched . All the actors hit their performaces dead on. Complete with physical mannuerism, and personality defecs. I especialy liked Claudia Black's (acting what every guy would do in a womans body), and Ben Browder's performances. And the puppets really suprised me with their emotions.

I love Aeryn's and John's relationship. It's not corny, its not forced. It's just emotionaly charged ups and downs, its a key point in me liking the show so much.

It's just such a great show, that I am now sad to see that it may be ending. There are rumors that Showtime, and UPN are showing great interest, but who knows.
