Better not bring it up to Buzz Aldrin!

<a href="http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/space/09/10/aldrin.skeptic.reut/index.html"; target="_blank">Buzz punches cynic!</a>

Good for him, I say! Since that stupid Fox show aired I bet he gets this all the time. If I risked my life like he did, only to have yahoos question my accomplishment's validity, I'd get pissy, too!

What are the arguments used by those who claim that the moon landings never took place?

While I've always believed they occurred, I suppose I'd be willing at least to suggest that we'd have our reasons for faking the Apollo missions for political reasons if we could not produce the technology necessary to actually do the job.

I stand by him too. He risked his life in space. And lost friends who died in the Apollo program. It was likely the greatest achievement in his life, and to have some oily, money-grabbing, asshole. From behind a cozy desk on Earth, never having risked his life for his country, saying his amazing accomplishment never really happened. is disgusting.

He called Buzz a liar for giving interviews on something he thinks Buzz never did. The guy deserved everything he got.

This whole "we never went to the moon thing" is absolutely rediculous. Do you really think that the Soviet Union at the hight of its power could be fooled so easily? They would have been monotoring every step of our journey to the moon, with every satelite, station, and ground-based facility in there disposal, making sure we didnt fake it. If they belived that there was even a shred of evidence that this was faked they would have said it then. This is just an attempt to make money, at the cost of a great achievement.

    There's a discussion of the Moon Landing hoax <a href="http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2001/ast23feb_2.htm"; target="_blank">here.</a>

This link is debunking the debunkers. If you want a pro-conspiracy site you have to find it yourself!

There has been at least one thread on the subject here at AI, too.

In one photo, the photographer can be seen reflected in the visor of the astronaut's helmet. The photographer is dressed in jeans and a t-shirt......

In another photo, the moon can be seen over the astronaut's right shoulder. The photo was taken on earth at night.....

    From that site:

"Indeed, says McKay, faking a Moon rock well enough to hoodwink an international army of scientists might be more difficult than the Manhattan Project. "It would be easier to just go to the Moon and get one," he quipped.

And therein lies an original idea: Did NASA go to the Moon to collect props for a staged Moon landing? It's an interesting twist on the conspiracy theory that TV producers might consider for their next episode of the Moon Hoax."

Sibrel is a joke. This guy is just trying for some publicity. He's confronted Buzz Aldrin before.

Of course we went to the Moon. People DIED so that man could go to the Moon. It is one of the greatest collective achievements of mankind. How can someone even think of doubting it.

What REALLY pissed me off was when my 13-yr.-old nephew came home from school last year and started telling me how his teacher had led the debate in class after one of the Fox shows about this. I was pretty angry. I also told him to make sure to LET ME KNOW if and when a teacher ever told the class that there was some doubt about whether we "actually" went to the moon -- I can't wait for that, I'll have their f*cking job.

There's more info here, on a regular basis:

    <a href="http://www.badastronomy.com"; target="_blank">http://www.badastronomy.com</a>;

Also, the guy at badastronomy is going to be on TechLive on TechTV on Friday night (8:30 he says) to dispute Sibrel's arguments. Might be fun to watch, but it'll probably be like arguing with a religious zealot about Creationism.

ok, well i wanted to post a response to this type of topic in another board that i read. i thought it was pretty good. this dudes always pretty damn clever in his posts.

My Letter to the Moon Hoax Guy:

"I was reading in News and Events about his run in with Buzz Aldrin and it prompted me to send him an e-mail:

I support your efforts in trying to suppress the lies of these government types that try to tell us that the Apollo missions actually happened. Us clever folk and any other presented with the underlying evidence know better.

I already know for a fact that nobody landed on the moon. It is much too small to be landed on except maybe by a fly or a reasonably sized moth. If you look in the sky the moon is only about as big as a dime. I don't even know why those dumbards up in Washington would even try to land on it in the first place. Maybe to fool the Russians, the Russians are dumb, they probably think the moon is made of cheese! lol! Not only that, but that moon has to be clipping along at a high speed. Like 10,000 miles per hour. I'll have to do the math later, but even the fastest plane in the world can only hit the speed of sound.

Also just aiming for the thing would be beyond the capabilities of the engineers because the solar wind would keep blowing them off course. And cosmic radiation can kill a man in a matter of seconds. How come you never see the dog or the monkey they sent into space on TV or something? You would think that they would make a good sitcom about one of those animals. You know why they don't show them? Because their dead from the radiation. And nobody likes a sitcom about a dead monkey.

I saw your fight with Buzz "I'M A FREAKING HYPOCRIT" Aldrin on the TV the other day. You should have punched him back. You could take him no problem he's 80 or 90 or something. Also if your interested I did my own research on a subject of my own. I'm debunking the invasion of Normandy. It was all lies by the government to sell steel to the Japanese."

    classic... <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
