The worst day of your life...

Why? and when? what happened?

I have a bad feeling today is in the top ten of the worst so far for me...

Uh, maybe there have been something more as well... once, coming from the funerals and ending in a car accident could be among those top ten days.

...just not one of my days today

    Maybe something like this...:

Discovering your stolen drivers licence is not registered in the country you currently live... so, depending only on the mood and pissedoffness of fthe bureaucrates, you have these choices for re-doing your drivers licence...

    a) Doing again the driving school ... (have no money) b) "just" do the exams (still too much money..) Other worse chances..

Worst thing that can happen now:

I have a problem with the residence address. I might have told to change my residence and that is not possible. I cant be resident where i live, have no other place, and have been declared to not been living for years in the "lasst registered no-problem address". .. So, maybe... With the Italian bureaucracy, I have to changve my residence to abroads for 1 - 2 months, and go ask a duplicate of my licence of the foreign police. This sounds werird - but as far as i have searched this thing since friday (embassies, police, etc. .. the licence was not done in this country, and unluckily was neither registered so haiving only a duplicate done is IMPOSSIBLE) ...

So, .. discovering that the most realistic and EASY way to have your drivers licence duplicate is to change the reisdence abroad for 2 months and go to the other countrys police at least 2 times (but they should probably do not many questions for me why i would be living there.. that is, living just in paper) .. gee????

    i call this bad luck.

then, yesterday tried to install jaguar. "restart to make the install start" well restart, nothing, restart, nothing, restart, nothing...

in the end i chose to install the 10.1 after formatting to resolve the continuous kernel problems that the macgimp and x86 did.

now that the 10.1 is on the clean computer... the kernel panics and bar code screen, strobo - like turning to black, going into tilt .. (like windows.. except see bar code screen , or the screen goes in tilt or goes in black) .. .. still exist! at least 10 times happened already today!!

so the problem seems to be hardware...

    very nice

    <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

then ... noticed the 512 mb slot of new ram does not fit inside the computer. it's too big in one angle. so i should either cut off the piece.. risking it not to work, .. ask the tech service to install it (unmounting half ot ibook to do that) (i dont have money to have that done there) .. or i have to call to france to the company i bought the memory (on the expo) and ask them to do something .. cut that piece of or pay me for having it installed .. or send me a piece that fits??

what else can go still wrong today??

Not to be rude, but if anyone's "worst day" revolves around computer problems, you're the luckiest fvcking human being on earth. (Just hoping to head someone off at the pass because I have a feeling it's coming.)

    <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" /> <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" /> <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

Not only about the computer, sorry.

Discovering the .SIT losing the drivers licence caused me is not computer related.

It makes me feel "so happy" .. to basically change my residence to an other country for two months hoping that way to have less problems with having the duplicate.

Now if i'd go to ask the new one here in the offices they will tell me that i don't exist.

So beacause i don't exist they will probably not make me at all the drivers licence here.

Or i have to change the home, etc etc etc...

    Can't do that either.

Could remember some things that went quite wrong with people as well but they are too boring.

Now what will be ther first good surprise today??

(I keep replying to Mullata's last post but it isn't showing up / going through on my browser - sorry if this reply appears more than once).

Mulatta: Sorry if you thought I was referring to you, I wasn't. I read about the robbery - definitely a bad day when that happens. Just make sure that day doesn't cast a shadow over tomorrow, if you know what I mean.

easy. the 2 worst days of my life happened exactly 2 months apart, almost to the hour. first, of course, september 11. second, november 11th, about 8:30 am i crash the S2000 going 110 mph (not my fault, a tire blew around a turn), barely escaping with my life and destroying my racing life. im still not completely recovered mentally from that accident...

    oh well...

no. but im still american, and the entire country (and world) felt it like they were there. i know its not the same, but if you could see the faces of the people on this campus that day, you'd think every one here actually saw it happen in person...
