You have never been in a restaurant and someone next to you is screaming into a cell phone? Even Tiffany's has this happen every once in a while and it makes me furious!
I cannot wait for iOS 5.0. With my iPhone 4, it will be like a new phone entirely. I have no remorse about not upgrading the 4s. A better camera and an A5 chip is not reason enough for me to pay $300.
Sell your iPhone 4 for $300 on eBay and the new phone didn't cost you a penny.
I see ios 5 as a good hold off till i can hopefully get an iphone 4s at the end of october (if they are not backed up by months by then).
Siris best use is in the car. My state made it illegal to text and drive. You must be using a hands free device. Siri allows the iphone to read off my texts while I am driving which is a HUGE feature for me.
And that somehow makes ALL phone conversations ANYWHERE in public "repulsive"?
Yes. Just for the day, mentally document all the cell phone conversations that you are forced to overhear in public. This morning on the bus I was forced to listen to a lady screaming at her husband or boyfriend or lover or son. Yesterday it was a guy talking about his bachelor party. Ugh. Not even my Shure noise cancellation earphones make it better. Nothing does.

You're not meant to get a new phone every year you know. No matter how good it is. Every two years if you have a contract is perfect timing. That way you even can be more excited about the big jump.

I am pretty sure that soon it will be most states or even all states have made it illegal to text and drive. That alone is reason enough for me to learn how to use Siri. *

Everything you say is true except for one thing? Ron Paul? Really?
I mean. I like the idea of abolishing the EPA and going back to the Gold Standard. But I like these things as strictly ideas. The reality would spell disaster.
Seri is pushing me over the edge. Thankfully I'm not eligible for a subsidized upgrade until November 25th, so I have some time to cool the gadget lust down a little.
Not that I think it wil help much!
And I just realized being SMS free will more than make up for the $400 for the 64GB model (finally-the other huge reason I want a 4S)
used iPhone 4s are going for more than $300 on ebay/craigslist. that iPhone 4S upgrade doesn't have to cost you a dime.
even gazelle is giving $250 for an iPhone 4 if you don't want to go through the hassle of selling it yourself.
Sure, but who's paying the remaining 12-24 months of my phone contract bill attached to the old iPhone 4? Because for the new iPhone 4S to be USD 200 for 16 GB will get another contract.
I'd rather give that $300 to an orphanage in Ethiopia and feel good knowing that a dual antenna is providing someone in the States with one less dropped call per 10.
The extra productivity the iPhone provides allows me to make far more than $300 to give to the "orphanage in Ethiopia".

Only in the USA though, and most likely only because this is the first time the USA gets unlocked phones.
Not quite. The previous iPhone 4 models (16GB and 32GB) were available unlocked since June until they were discontinued.

What are the two different phone icons on that guys home screen?
The one in the third slot on the tray is the WhatsApp app that allows free cross-platform SMS.

+1 I have atrip to Miami in late October and was hoping to buy two unlocked 4s'
Since it sounds like the reason you wanted them was for resale, I don't have a lot of sympathy.

I think one of them is the new Newsstand app (for magazine subscriptions.)
Not sure which of the others you're referring to.
Not even Siri?
