making ringtones

I have downloaded a song on itunes. When I am on the options page I set the start time and the finish time. When I hit ok the finish time automatically goes back to the original full song time. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Yeah, that does absolutely nothing in terms of actually making a ringtone. You can't do that.
Use GarageBand to make ringtones. I think changing the extension sometimes works, too.

I use an app called RMaker to make my ringtones on my iPhone from songs I already own. It's simple and pretty easy to use.

like TS said, use garageband to make ringtones. There is even a template for them.
I make ringtones this way in 2 minutes....

I make ringtones this way in 2 minutes....
