I listen to the BBC a lot. I've never heard them 'bash' America or promote socialism and capitalism. Hell, they're actually not allowed to and a shit storm brews on the rare occasion they do. What world are you living in?

You need to open your ears mate. Not only is it anti US, it is anti Israel.

Just because you are incapable of perceiving the bias, does not mean it does not exist. If you are British and have spent most of your life living there, it's most probable that your sense of political balance is skewed to the left.

This site is quite good at documenting the daily bullshit pumped out from the BBC...

Believed by whom? I don't buy that for a second!

Why would the placeholder image be of an Apple app? Someone has gone out and sourced that image. Why not use a placeholder Android screenshot?

Then there's the replacement of the status bar. That's been carefully done.

There was a theoy on the Android comments linked to in a previous comment that this may be like disgruntled Disney employees putting images into films. Samsung's designers must be fed up of being ordered to copy Apple. They are good at their jobs, they have shown that in the past, but of late they're being asked to mimic other people's work. It goes against the grain for creative people like them. The theory could carry some weight.

So they take aim at the prime example of capitalism, the US. Creating nonsense anti US memes whose spread is accelerated by jealousy (ironically because UK standard of living is lower due to increased socialism!).

    That's absolutely insane.

I have removed 120 friends of mine from facebook this year, mostly because of anti US crap that they pollute it with. Most believe that george bush blew up the twin towers and that the US never went to the moon. Believe me or not, a wave of socialist propaganda is sweeping the UK. It's very hard for me within UK social circles to express my like for the US as I'm bombarded by hatred and nonsense memes.

I have spent a large part of my life perceiving the UK externally, from 11 countries this year alone. It's one of the most repressed countries on the planet and most of it's citizens don't even know it. Most just accept that you are forced to pay for state TV , and accept that you have more CCTV than any country on the planet, continuously watched and monitored. That freedom of speech is being eroded daily. The ridiculous and disabling red tape and regulations etc the list goes on.

With respect, I think your view of the UK is myopic. Whether that's a poor choice of friends or not I don't know. I certainly don't know a single person who thinks 9/11 was an inside job and I have friends from the US who mix in pretty well with my social group. The US is like any country, a lot to like and a lot to dislike.

I've just read the site - its mostly nit picking if I am quite honest from someone who clearly wants the BBC to look evil. :/

I'm not saying the BBC is perfect, but that site is blowing everything clearly out of proportion.

    Samsung = EVIL

    Gnusmas = DEVIL in Korea

The fact that Samsung has no sense of shame for outright copying of Apple indicates it lacks morals and religious virtue. It simply is EVIL.

Oh far from it, like I said above, I have perceived the UK and compared it from pretty much every country on the planet. My perception is a million miles from myopic! I am also a generalist. If anyone was capable of a balanced and educated view of the UK by comparison to the world, it's me.

Also, by the way, I have been involved with many newsworthy and sometimes controversial events which I know damn well have been span by the BBC because I had access to the full facts. Social engineering is rife within the organisation.

If I'm honest, the current news stories featured on that site are not great examples, and the BBC have been reined in a little since the Conservative/Liberal coalition.

Currently they are blaming the economy on the current government, when the reality is the last government (socialists) overspent and miss managed the economy. The coalition is just trying to pick up the pieces and get the economy on back on track. This kind of bias programming is hard to prove, and hard for most people to perceive without a reasonable economic understanding, and memories of greater capacity than goldfish.

Also currently, they are helping fuel anti bank protesters.

And listen to how they portray Rupert Murdoch next time they report him (there are plain obvious self serving reasons why they don't like Rupert).

While it doesn't make Samsung look very good here, stuff like this can easily happen. Someone can forget to swap out a place-holder. I don't see it as that big of a deal.

I largely feel the same way about Apple getting called on device images that were not entirely accurate when placed side by side. This stuff can happen very easily.

In both cases the mistakes should have been caught, but that's life.

Samsung's other copying is of more a concern to me than a screenshot placeholder... Just my opinion.

I dislike Google for their hypocrisy but I hope now even Google will feel a bit sick in the stomach working with this mindless and pathetic company and drive them back into the cheap OEM that they are. If they don't then shame on Google.

    Jeez.

And this company has the b**ls to ask courts to stop Apple from selling its 4S. Unbelievable.

This is obviously a gaff by a graphic designer who was probably awaiting the correct image and used a placeholder as a stopgap. Things went wrong and the placeholder got out into the public.

These things happen. It's not a story.

Yeah, and you know this how?

Given all the other slavish copying that's been pointed out here, the burden of proof is on you.

About 27,000 people joined a class-action suit against Apple?s South Korean unit and headquarters, seeking 1 million won per person ($930) in damages, according to a notice posted online by Mirae Law, which represents the plaintiffs. The suit was filed in Changwon, south of Seoul, where the law firm is located.

27,000 Korean Apple users are suing Apple? For what? That silly location data story on the iPhone a while back that turned out to be a total non issue and that has long been resolved?

Those 27,000 are leeches looking for a quick buck that they don't in any way deserve or are entitled to. Screw them.

Many Korean people don't deserve Apple products? What kind of DICK are you?

Why use an image from the iOS maps application when you could simply type "android maps" into a google image search and grab one of the results? It took me less than 10 seconds. If I was looking for placeholder graphics for an edit, say for an Audi tvc, I wouldn't use an image of a BMW. Or back to the current situation, heck, grab a section of a screengrab of google maps as a placeholder?

As the above poster mentioned, the designer had to go to the effort of putting in the status bar to fit the iOS image. Your interpretation is looking the more improbable, especially with the now numerous previous "slip ups" weighing in.
