Apple has begun rolling out its one-day Black Friday sale in limited countries around the world, with discounts adding up to roughly 10 percent off select iPad, iPod and Mac models [updated with U.S. pricing].

Update: Apple has kicked off its Black Friday sale in the U.S., offering $41-61 off the iPad 2, $101 off the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac and $21 off the iPod touch. The company is also offering small discounts on wireless peripherals, base stations and accessories.

The Apple Online Store in Australia is advertising A$45 (US$44) off the 16GB iPad 2, with discounts of A$55 and A$65 for the 32GB and 64GB models, respectively. The company is also offering a flat A$121 (US$118) off all models of the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and the iMac. The iPod touch is on sale for A$198, down from A$219 and the iPod nano is on sale for A$11 off at A$138.

The one-day shopping event has also gone live in the U.K. Apple has knocked £31 ($48) off the iPad 2, £81 off the same Mac models, £15 off the iPod touch and £11 off the iPod nano.

Apple is also offering modest discounts on various accessories, including wireless peripherals and base stations.

The company's deals in Australia provide an approximate indication of the deals that it will offer in the U.S. on Friday, especially given how close the exchange rate is between the Australian dollar and the U.S. dollar. During its Black Friday sale in the U.S. last year, Apple offered $101 off iMac, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air computers, $41 off the iPad and $21 off the iPod touch.

Also of note, online retailer Amazon has posted an early Black Friday deal of US$849.99 for the base 11.6-inch MacBook Air model, US$1,049.99 for the 2.5GHz 21.5-inch iMac and US$1,049.99 for the 2.4GHz dual 13-inch MacBook Pro. Meanwhile, Best Buy is offering $45 off all iPad 2 models in an early Black Friday sale.

Best Buy and Amazon have knocked $150 off of the entry level Macbook Air and 13 inch Pro laptops. I'm guessing this will be the US discount for all retailers this Black Friday.

Some of the deals are closer to 15%. That's about the best I've seen for Apple products.

Were you expecting a fire sale or something?

Apple doesn't even need to give any discount at all.

I've said this before also, but Black Friday is highly overrated. No way am I visiting any stores tomorrow.

    Oh, and one more thing.

It's not my intention to make this political or anything, but this has to do directly with the topic at hand.

I wonder if Apple is going to be targeted tomorrow, they are certainly a prime target. I am referring to the occupy black friday threats.

As expected, Apple took the US store offline shortly after midnight to update it. This was as of 12:05AM. Lets see what kind of deals they have. I am guessing they will be better than Amazon/BestBuy, etc...

Ya, I'm sure that won't get political.

Heck, I only got AUD$11 off but it was fun getting my Airport Express. Airplay works sweet on it with mah new speakers. The bachelor pad is coming together nicely. Now to get back to focusing on getting job.
