That's what happens when your organization doesn't have enough brains to realize it's a stupid idea to suit your kids up in uniforms and batting gloves, and let them run around onto the field during the World Series. Not after the series is over, not after the game is over...not even after the fvcking inning was over.

Freakin proof this new-age "my little darling deserves anything he wants" child-rearing is bullshit. I'm glad they lost, whereas before that fiasco took place, I didn't care either way. Way to go Angels!

My apology. I am a baseball fan in a bad mood, and you struck a nerve.

Are you crazy! That is a stupid idea! This is America's pastime. It is a traditional sport, not flooded by stupid, nit-picky rules and violence like Football, Hockey or whatever the hell is out there. This is also a great way to introduce kid to sports. Yea, the kid should not have walked in the field, but so what! Don't play the "What if?" game, I don't want to hear it. You sound like a jealous troll, who's daddy never took you to a baseball game.

Did Barry's kid do something I missed? Or are you talking about the little kid from yesterday and if so what does that have to do with Barry (as title suggests)?

There was only one incident where a kid walked on the field. It has nothing to do with Barry.

Moogs is on crack since nothing happened today other than the Angels defeating the Giants. Sore winner is my first thought. You gotta stick it to the Giants, don't you?

I think it's pretty damn cool that the Giants organization makes baseball a family affair.

No doubt, I don't like Barry Bonds at all. I don't care if he hits a million homeruns, he is still a jerk. But Dusty Baker is good guy, give him a break. He didn't tell the kid to run out there and I'm sure he corrected him after.

can someone clue me in on what happened?

Why is he a jerk? Because he doesn't answer questions about his previous postseason numbers, or whether not having a World Series ring weighs heavily on his mind every single day?

Is he a jerk for defending David Bell against Jeff Kent after Kent went off on Bell for making an error on a play?

Or is he a jerk for staying in San Francisco even though a few other teams made him nice offers last year?

Or is he a jerk when he just ignoreds Dodger fans in left field that throw batteries, small bottles, etc. at him?

Does his $15M a year salary make him a jerk?

I'd love to see you list the reasons why he's a jerk.

    --

And Moogs, reasons for having kids in the dugout:

    1) Two-way inspiration. If you saw Shawon Dunston's interview after the Giants won the NLCS, you'd know why the kids are in the dugout.

    2) To keep tempers in check. It's a lot harder to throw a tantrum and scream obscenities in front of your own kid or somebody else's kid.

    What do you think, eh?

On Thursday, Dusty Baker's son ran onto the field to retrieve Kenny Lofton's bat in the middle of a play. Fortunately JT Snow saw him as he came in to score and scooped him up before he was hurt.

Today, they cut to footage of Dusty Baker and Shawon Dunston's sons crying in their father's arms.

Apparently, this is reason enough to hate the Giants... <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Living in L.A. is a good enough reason for hating the Giants. It's part of the whole rivalry. I am in fact VERY GLAD BB and the entire Giants organization got their asses handed to them today.

One player does not make a team. Standing there and watching your meaningless homerun sail away while you leisurely walk up the first base line makes BB a jerk.

It was nice to see BB pissed off during his post-game interview repeat, "next question" and emphasize the stupidity of a question I couldn't hear. That made him a jerk. Take a lesson from Dusty and be a gracious loser. Emphasis on LOSER.

Congrats to the Angels and see ya later to Kent and Baker.

Barry and the Giants had their chances. They blew it, and that makes this SoCal baseball fan a very, very happy guy.

Hey Mikey. There's always next year. I'll remember your post when we mow the Angels down to dust.

Nothing is stronger than revenge.

Since when were home run trots only done by Bonds??? Everyone does them.

Anyway, you sound like someone that has never lost an important game before. I can tell you that anyone that loses a game like that has the right to be mad. Are you telling me that you losing a game 7 is not important? I'd be upset if Barry wasn't mad. On a personal note, I just lost a playoff soccer game. It went to PKs and I can tell you that I snapped at a few people that talked to me after the game too. It's human nature. I personally like Barry a lot more than other players. He seems like a much more genuine person and a good guy.

Other than the Barry Bonds haters, it was a damned good series. If the last game had been a 1 run ballgame, I would have ranked it better than last year's, which is #1 among all the World Series I've ever watched.

Barry admires his home runs? So does every other player that can hit the ball halfway up the bleachers. He did his part. The bullpen didn't come through yesterday, and Livan didn't come through today. Come up with a better excuse to rib Barry, please.

Barry's not a sore loser, he's a target. And his attackers really have no appreciation for the game.

I was not talking about last night's game (Eugene), I was talking about the way in which a few of the managers and players made a laughing stock of the Fall Classic a couple games back (Ebby). I am further not saying I dislike baseball.

I am saying that when Dusty Baker, Shawon Dunston and whoever the other guy's kid is, decide to suit their kids up for the whole series and bring them into the dug out - it's a disgrace. It's also a disgrace when apparently two of the three (not including Baker) encouraged the little brats to run onto the field to greet a couple of the Giants players as they approached home plate.

The Series wasn't OVER, the GAME wasn't OVER, and THE INNING WASN'T OVER. Get your God-damned kids OFF THE FVCKING FIELD PLEASE! Despite the ridiculous salaries, it was a still a man's game up till that point - at least where the Fall Classic is concerned. No longer. Now it's a place for spoiled athletes and managers to parade their spoiled kids in front of the world.

KIDS BELONG IN THE STANDS, PERIOD. That goes for Daryl Kyle's son as well, I'm sorry to report. You know if you win the series or break a big record and your kid comes out to give you a hug / get a piggy-back ride after the game - NO BIG DEAL. I don't care about that, and that's not the type of thing I'm referring to here.

In the end, I am glad the Giants lost because they were the nimrods letting their kids parade around the dugout and field and different times during the series. Before the series had started, I couldn't have cared less who won. Hell, I might've even been HAPPY for Ba-r-r-r-y and SF (Eugene).

Good, exciting series. Game six ranks up there as one of the greatest game sixes ever. The '75 game six was more intense, IMO, but that's the kind of thing baseball fans will now argue about. The pitching in this series, however, was pretty bad. Felix Rodriguez and Rob Nen were very good but that's about it for the Giants' staff.

The Angels' pitching wasn't "World Series caliber" either. Their bullpen was stellar but with the exception of John Lackey their starters were even worse than were the Giants' starters.

I'm glad it went 7 games. Both teams did the "gut check" and found a way to win when their backs were against the wall. The Giants just needed to do that one more time and, for whatever reason, they came up empty.

Barry Bonds was everything he was advertised to be and more. He is clearly the greatest everyday player of our time. I feel bad he didn't get that ring but the Angels are worthy champions.

And now I'm left with one burning question: how many weeks until spring training?

Yea, I totally agree the kids should not be on the field at all. But I think the dugout is a perfectly acceptable place. (If there were 30 kids crammed in there, I would reconsider, or limit/rotate through them) Spoiled? I don't think so. It is just a baseball game. Keep in mind all the kids have lives outside the ball park as well and that you've probably only seen them at baseball games. (It could also be used as a reward: If Dusty Baker's son didn't finish his homework, he couldn't go to the game.) Even so, a little spoiling is good now-and-then, and the kids probably won't change much because if it.

Besides, if the kids were to sit in the stands, the Giants would have to buy tickets for them, and some players might not be able to afford all those tickets on a baseball player's salary.

till a line drive foul ball renders a ballplayer's kid brain-dead, or till the next time a three year old runs to the plate but doesn't get snatched out of the way and gets a broken neck and spends the rest of he's life in a wheelchair, i say let the little darlings in the dugout, the field, hell, let them at home plate to get a close look at a randy johnson fastball (like that pigeon did)....g
