MacBook gets black screen after waking from sleep

I have a new 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch. Every so often, but increasingly, when I open the lid to wake the MacBook from sleep, it wakes momentarily, then the screen goes black. I have to turn the machine off by holding the power button and then turn it back on. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Or you can just shut the lid and immediately open it again.

I had it in the Developer Previews. It has been fine for me since retail. Odd.

I am having the exact same issue. I open the macbook pro and the screen is on then it turns off. If if open and close it twice really fast, it will stay on. Any word?

It seems to come in bunches where it does it. Usually it will only happen 2 or 3 times in a row but, lately it will take way more times. Appears to happen more often for my wife so not sure how that happens

Saw another note that said to pop the power cord at the mag connection. Will try that next time. My concern is if it is physical since my AppleCare runs out this March.

Or you can just press the "increase brightness" button...
