Aside from a short comedy stunt performed by Ballmer together with a chimp, there will be Elop talking with a robot voice from a burning platform, a former CEO from RIM to tell about market share, and Balsillie to lecture on profitability. Schmidt will give an inspired speech about trust, and an unnamed Samsung executive will show off his trademark jeans and black turtleneck...
I want the event to be iOS6 beta event. NFC, 3D maps and all that good stuff. Makes an Iphone possible in 3-4 month. Just in time for WWDC.
Unless Apple has decided to produce a non-Xeon Mac Pro, it won't be going in the Pro. Now if they wanted to make a new low-end Mac Pro using that chip, that would be a nice system, but it would be an entirely new mobo design as it is LGA2011. The non-Xeon Ivy Bridge desktops will be LGA1155, but the Xeons will b LGA2011, so who knows. I agree we won't see that processor in an iMac, it's a 130W processor, whereas the i7 2600 available at the top end BTO option is a 95W processor.
I think "STRANGE" actually means "SPECIAL" and that something was lost in translation btwn Japanese & English. Lol
I wonder if the description 'strange' to a rumoured future event is the result of rumour mongering that just plain ran out of ideas.
How would anyone be able to label anything as strange without knowing the content. Unless the rumour came from Apple. In which case its a musical. The event will be presented in the form of a Broadway musical.

WWDC is a developers conference. It is THE most appropriate venue to beta announce software. That is when iOS 6 is going to be discussed. And the iPhone will come out 2-3 months or so after it. As makes more sense than a month later with old software.
Apple would never have 5 weeks lead time. They would loose billions in Ipad3 sales.
Yes they would have that much, if there was a need for it. And no they wouldn't lose billions of sales. People will wait. They will wait 5 months of Apple says they have to. If they want the iPad 3 they want the iPad 3. That's the beauty of Apple's world.
I still say iPad 3 announcement, a month (5 weeks) of preorders, and the iPad 2's price being dropped to $399 on the day of announcement.
That gives people a month's notice to buy the old product if they want it NOW? so as not to steal sales from the iPad 3 on launch day, like the following:
"Dum de dum, going to buy an iPad 2? Oh, hey, the iPad 3's out! I'll get? say, the 2 is $399? I'll get that instead!"
With a month at the new price and the simple knowledge of the new iPad, those that want the old one can get the old one and have time to think about whether they want to swap it out or keep it without taking sales from the iPad 3.
I have a feeling that its gonna be like the last iphone4s event for an iPad.
probably iPad 2s? not iPad 3.
No, iPad 3. Your implication that the iPhone 4S isn't a brand new phone is seeping through, too.
I just don't see Apple saying, "2011 was the year of iPad 2… and so is 2012."

Ballmer will be introducing the iZune... in any color you want, as long as it's brown...
I clearly don't read Japanese, so I'm relying entirely on your translation. As I read that, he's saying "I earlier said that there would be a special event in February, but that was a mistake. A February event would be unusual for Apple." This would suggest that the event he earlier predicted would be in March rather than in February. IOW, nothing to get excited about - and no reason to believe that they'll have a Feb AND a March event.
Good point there. The original blogpost's title actually says, "Special product event to be in the first part of March, not in February," which I neglected to include before. It's not clear what exactly is this unusual thing that is happening with February, though I agree it seems possible there may end up being no special event at all. That being said, he seems to indicate that SOMETHING is happening in February, though what this unusual thing is, remains entirely unclear.
Apple might announce that it has developed a breast implant that can store and play music. The iTit will cost from $499 to $699, depending on cup and speaker size. This is considered a major social breakthrough ... because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.

PowerBook G5?
In black plastic case?
Fair enough then. So what are we left with? I love a good mystery I doubt a product so that leaves what ... a policy shift?
Unless it is a product but it isn't a product release but a product death.
After all, when was the last time the Mac Pro was updated.
Tim is stepping down. Monkey Boy is taking his place.
Followed immediately by the steepest stock plunge in history.

Nailed it!
Never in an Imac. MacPro in other hand...
BTW

"strange" event... iOS 5.1 with Facebook integration... Facebook IPO... Google+...
Put it all together, add a dash of wild speculation. Apple and Facebook will parter to take on Google, with Apple holding 50% of Facebook stock.
God no. Plus Faceback is a fad/scam with no redeeming value... imo .
Apple bought a C3 to integrate in iOS.

The February event could be this software? I love the youtube demo.
Watching that video... At 1:09, Someone mentions the iPad with 3D mapping would be a "great way to tour the Olympic Park".
Bingo!
London 2012 Olympic Games
Olympic Games 27 July-12 Aug 2012
The possibilities....
The event will be a tribute to Steve Jobs on his Birthday which is February 24th.
Good thinking! They could roll out the latest iMac on his birthday as a final tribute. How would that match up with the Ivy Bridge release?

Very funny. I loved it.
Apple will announce a partnership with Google to provide iPhones and iPads powered by Android. That would be very cool.
Yep. And google.com will be switching to Spotlight apparently.
