ATI 8500 vs. GeForce 4

Which is or rather should be better? ThinkSecret claims the the 8500 may be a BTO on new towers and the GeForce 4 comes out first of Feb. So, which one's better? I'm still experiencing ATI's crappy driver history as my G4 450 doesn't play nice after waking from sleep and I'm caustious about ATI.

Any thoughts?

My money, this time, is on nVidia. ATI and nVidia are going to be leapfrogging eachother in 6 month intervals for the foreseeable future. The Radeon 8500 was actually introduced to the PC world back in August, but ATI isn't the most punctual at shipping...

The 8500 has been out for some time now on the PC side of things. With the newest drivers it can come close to a high end GeForce 3 Ti 500. I see no reason why it would stand a chance of competing with a GeForce 4.

Worse then ATI? Is it worth it if GeForce 4 is better then the 8500?
