I will use this post to hope that I don't have a kid anytime soon. I've got a career to establish first.

Though when the first one pops out, I'll be sure to say "oh, that's been done billions of times. you're not so special"

April 20th is the due date for our little girl. We did the ultrasound last week. We decided to tell the doc to look for the sex. So now we have to think of another girl's name. Anyone have any ideas? I was trying to talk the boss into a lord of the rings theme - maybe Galadriel or Arwen. She didn't go for it, and is instead pushing for Julia.

First of all, this thread should perhaps be moved to general discussion. I think that the other thread proved that people have difficulty removing their fireside chat hat, when required.

More importantly, congratulations to all the expectant mothers and fathers.

I spent the weekend looking after my girlfriend's 7-month-old neice and I am now feeling broody (if that's medically possible).

I have just realized that, embaressingly, that I don't know how to spell the baby's name. Her mother is a fan of Irish/Celtic names and so her sister is named Naimh (pronounced Neve). The bairn's name sounds like parade but with an m instead of the p but it is anyone's guess as to how to spell it.

Anyway, I digress, congrats again, and I hope everything goes well and your families are blessed with much joy and happiness.

i've always been partial to spanish names, makes sense since mine is (quintana roo)... two of my favorites are amaranta and amalia (from garcia-marquez books). i had a friend named amalia in school, she went by molly for short, which i thought was silly.

We're thinking Kayla for a girl. Not sure about a boy.....a Jr. is possible.

Fehmalie (or if you like, you can use the traditional spelling: Female).

Jr is a truly obnoxious name, juck. Pick a real name, that's almost as bad as numbering your children, which happens too. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

Officially it's June 26th, according to the Yahoo calender thingy. But, we're going to have twins, so it's more likely to be end of May.
