I agree. A real irritation, since I had to get an analog-to-digital converter for use with my B&O system (which I am not giving up any time soon). It seems to add a certain sharpness and edginess to the sound that I don't care much for....
Mine arrived today too, and as with the previous ones, this one also has the USB port. Has anyone ever figured out -- since it's been around since V1 -- what the heck that's for?!
Hmmm... And you don't need better resolution while browsing the web?
Once you'll open magazines in AppStore for yourself - a big surprise is waiting for you! They look so great, and the only drawback is the lack of resolution.
I have a condo with my desktop in my living room. The ipad is used for quick browsing . Plus I am not picky and not made of money . lol
I can wait till next year for the next model that has the same screen but much better internal specs.

Exactly . . . B&O here too. I'm glad I got the old ATV1 160GB though

Originally it was supposed to be able to play media from attached storage but was only available by jail breaking it.
Who in the world wants analog audio? You couldn't use it if you were using HDMI anyway.
My Denon will only play analog audio to 2nd zone, not digital. If you need audio in sync with digital video, you need analog audio out from same unit supplying the video, or a D-A converter with some way to sync.
My iPad left Louisville, KY this afternoon after sitting in Anchorage for 5 days. Is it really going to make it to my home in San Francisco by tomorrow afternoon? It says it is on time, according to UPS.
<troll-mode>it's the same case design and they didnt change the name? No quad core processor? No retina display? No Siri? No notifications? I can't use it to download pirated porn from the torrents, just more walled garden movies from Disnee? Wtf? Its the iPhone 4S all over again. Apple is fail</troll-mode>

I do. \
In fact my current ATV is hooked up with HDMI for display/audio to my TV while the Analog audio hooks to my receiver for multi zone music. (and some DBX processors)
Sure the TV just dumbs down the signal. Just as if you have a 1080p TV and the old AppleTV, it dumbs it down to 720p no matter what the source, because that one couldn't output anything higher.
My TV won't do 720p. That's my problem. The old AppleTV would go down to 480p, which works but really sucks to watch.

What the heck are you talking about?
Eh. I take this back. I don't own an Apple TV so I think I'm thrown off by it's size. That remote just looks huge.
It's quite demure, actually.
How is the expected delivery of a product that is virtually identical to the current product ... news?
It doesn't have to be. It gets hits, so it gets written up.
Thank you for info!

Apple originally referred to it as a service port.
