Why is the title of the browser "29"? Will "Facebook" login options prevent me from participating signed in at work? (Most companies block Facebook.) Why on Earth does it default to sending me email about replies to comments on a website??
Looks like they turned on by default notification when someone comments on your comments and also comments after your comments. Uncheck'm in your profile. Me dunno nuttin about Facebook
A millimetre would be probably ten to fifty times thicker than the amount of space this saves.
Reading between the lines, it seems to me that the author has no real idea what this technology is beyond what they read in the press release.
Yeah, my impression is that it's not so much the thickness of the actual layer (which is virtually negligible), but rather the simplification of the assembly. No more precisely propositioning and sticking together multiple layers to get the functionality, now it's just all screen. Apple (and Tim Cook in particular) is genius at supply line, assembly, and inventory control and this will help with that.
But much better than Retina and specially under direct sun light.
Let's keep the holy wars to the OS? The 4S's display is widely regarded as having the most accurate colors and highest pixel density, while the Super AMOLED Plus has the best contrast ratio and direct-sun readability. Neither is clearly superior, at least on this generation of technology. Super AMOLED Plus thankfully replaces PenTile with RGB, and thus improves resolution and color response, but still suffers from inaccurate (but bright!) colors.

No, colors on the new iPad are much better en much more natural.
One thing is for sure, the new LTE iPhone can't arrive soon enough. Verizon is really on the ball with their LTE roll out and even my smallish city in central Georgia just got LTE fully activated this past week by Verizon. I am hopeful that the 2012 iPhone will really be a completely reinvented model. LTE is a given, and I don't really care about the back of the phone. But as long as it has LTE, a larger screen, and a few new goodies in iOS 6 I will be very happy and will probably sell my iPhone 4S and buy one before my upgrade credit kicks in.
I would love to see the iPhone and iPad reduce the touch latency to 10 milliseconds similar to the Microsoft prototype tablet. Most tablets are 100 milliseconds latency for the touch input where Microsoft's tablet has absolutely no lag while drawing with your finger or stylus.
