Chicago... the movie
Hmm... surprised that I didn't see this topic listed, so I figured I'd start a thread, but apologies if I missed it.
Anyway, I saw Chicago over the weekend. Go see it. Drop everything you're doing and go see it. Right now. Go!
Everything about the movie was great... the music, acting, choreography, etc etc... I think it's a lock for best pic.
People have a beef about Richard Gere not getting nominated for his part in the movie, and I totally agree. He was absolutely perfect for his role and I can't think of anyone better for the part.
I hope everyone else finds Chicago as enjoyable and fun as I did... i'm interested in what you all thought of this movie...

I love the puppet scene the most. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
13 Nominations too! Amazing...
Zellwiger as the cupie doll killer just ruled. The cast in general for being movie stars in a musical was great.
It's funny, I never think I'm going to like a musical (on screen or stage) but always dig them after I see them.

I'd also like to add that it's been 4 days since I saw this movie and I keep humming the soundtrack to it all day... I am so gung ho about this movie....

And who knew Richard Gere could do musicals?
I'm getting the DVD the day it comes out, and will see it at least once more in the theaters.
Zellwiger was sadly annoying (in a bad way - not deliberately).
gere was sad. His dancing was appauling.
CTZ was outstanding. You can tell she comes from dance and theatre background.
The ensemble dancers were excellent. Puppet scene was very good as was CTZ's act of desparation. Costumes excellent. Songs were, unfortunately, mindless jingles. Ultimately the show was shallow, all sizzle and no steak.
Chicago is meant to be a sexy sordid tale. I felt like it had been disneyfied.
I give it 2.5 / 5. See Caberet instead. Or Rocky Horror. Or if you must see it, see the stage show.
