Do custom built retina macbooks take longer to arrive?

I'm thinking about upgrading the RAM and MAYBE upgrading the SSD not sure about that though, and I'm wondering if a custom build will take much longer to fulfill over the standard models.

    The shipping ETA changes as you click the radio buttons for different specs. You can see immediately whether or not it will take longer.

    I just went and ordered one one through Apple Store here in NZ.


    Added your upgraded ram and SSD.


    Added to cart


    Still says "shipping 5-7 days."


     


    So, in answer to your question - it would appear not.

    It didn't change the shipping time so I thought it was static. sorry guise, and thanks. :)

    I ordered one on August 2nd with 768GB storage and its status changed to "Preparing For Shipment" this morning.
