Voiding the warranty when you use different memory in your Mac Mini

I spoke with a c/r rep and he told me today if you  use any other memory than Apple and it screws up say the logic board your warranty will be no good. Is this true or not please?

    Perhaps he meant "Apple-compatible" because the manual states only that the memory is the only user-servicable component in the Mini and you need to ensure that the memory meets the required spec (duh).  So I doubt that any spec-compliant memory module would void the warranty.
