What If US stopped giving to other countries?

Posted:
in General Discussion edited January 2014
I just read an article where officials from Zimbabwe have accused the US and British governments of enacting "racially motivated" sanctions.

This led me to wonder....

What if the United States government began an immediate cessation of ALL monetary distribution to EVERY country in the world.

What would happen?

every now then the thought comes to mind... just fvck em all.

but... if you let poor countries stay poor (no investment, aid, etc) their situation doesnt get better. They will hate and dispise, try and emigrate to the richer countries, cause social instability in said countries because no one wants them, racism... and lead to such situations as Al-Queda where some fanatics will try and destroy the rich evil ones.

Thats what happens... in a nut shell.

Israel and Egypt would be sad. Sharon might even cry. Well OK maybe not.

Actually the US could just say **** em. If everyone hates us already and there is nothing we can do to stop that then what else can we do?

There is only one other country that is capable of destroying our entire country and that is Russia. Russia and the US are the only countries with enough weapons to take each other out and the US has even an advantage here...we have the ability to destroy the world from the sea with our nuclear subs. Even if just say Russia took us out with everything they have and we fired what we could from the land before being destroyed, we have nuclear subs capable of taking out the planet.

Nobody wants to **** with us...because we can **** with whoever we want to.

Sharon cry? Never. Crying is for sentimental woosies! Are you trying to cast malicious disparagements on our fearless leader?

    Anyway,

I can?t imagine Curt Nohavec and Chris Kubasik, would be all too happy about all this.

Our taxes would go way down and the big 3 car manufactures would start heavily adopting alternate fuel sources. So what was the question again?

People will hate us if we don't give them money. People will hate us if we give them money with any conditions on its use or our own agenda. They just want freebies. Without freebie donations to other world governments, their governments would collapse, but so would the world economy. Dirty US businesses would claim to be devastated too. (I'm thinking of the oil companies mainly, but I'm sure McDonald's isn't above somethng like that).

Everyone wants a free ride, and dammit it's their right, isn't it?

It's a fallacy that terrorist comes from poverty. Terrorist tend to be well educated and have professional training to get a job with. OBL is a rich man...

The whole "poverty == terrorism" is one of those situations where someone assigns terrible results to their pet issue.

This is why I keep saying we need to attack Norway because their terrorist groups are the worst of any kind.

    If you say so.

The leader of the 9-11 terrorist group was a well educated engineer that would have had a good living back home. If he had gone there.

I just think it takes more than a few dozen people or so to take down the World Trade Center. It takes a culture with nothing to lose to support them as well.

Terrorists thrive on poverty. Do you think OBL could hide anywhere among the rich and educated? He him self is both rich and educated (In the UK) but virtually all his real followers are poor misinformed people. People without any hope on decent future. When people have lost hope there's not much left and OBL and others like him take advantage of that.

If the US (or any other rich western country for that matter) will stop giving they also must stop taking. Maybe that wasn't the worst thing that could happen - for everyone concerned

    [OFFTOPIC]

I think you need to include a definitive when you discuss the Palestinian people en masse Harald, they're not all card-carrying terrorists. But agreed that the suicide bombers aren't wealthy fatcats.

    [/OFFTOPIC]

Monetary assistance from other nations isn't a right, it is a gift or an arrangement. Defaulted loans litter the landscape of 20th Century American diplomacy and there is little incentive to reward hostility with assistance.
