So, anyone think that Apple will move on price on the Displays? Or maybe add new ones?

Do you think they'll keep the promos going?

    I think $1300 is a bit optimistic for the 22". Do you really think that they'd drop the price by almost 50% overnight?

    No... it's my first "wishful thinking" post ever... hopefully it won't automatically disqualify me from the "Sane Elite."

    The thing is... I need a new monitor, and if they don't make a 17" inch then I can get a Cinema Display, right?

    All prices are estimates from c-net:

    15" LCD ~$350-450 (Apple - $599)

    17" LCD ~$600-750 (Apple - $999)

    Think they'll come down?

    They're not going to kill the 17 inch. That would be insane. If they could make the 19 inch for 899 then I'm sure they could sell the 17 for 599. I really think they need a monitor at that price point.

    Right, no way do they get rid of every monitor below 19". There are plenty of people who wouldn't spend $100 to upgrade from 17" to 19", let alone several hundred. I think Apple needs to continue to have a monitor in the $5-700 range.

    Don't forget there is an industry wide LCD shortage expected to last through Q 1 2003

    Hmm..... There are plenty of people though out there who do not have the space for something over 15".... I personally hope they ADD a 19" for ~900-1000 and make the 17" 599.. And the 15" a steal for 300.. I could use some "space saver" 15" lcd's and I REALLY hope they do not kill that model.

    I expect that they will update the technology of the 15 inch TFT screen. The angle of vision are poor 120 and 90 ° compared to 160 ° for the bigger model. I don't know the technology use for the cinema display.

    But i'd like to see a 15 inch MVA screen : perfect for everything including games.

    Formac has a very 17,4 inch screen for the mac with MVA tehcnology, despite the design i think it's a better choice than the apple 17 inch;

    Eliminate 15 inch, put 17 inch in at 599, and add a 19 inch. Oh and speakers too!
