    That is actually hard, since you have to have an implementation to patent.

    A lot of these Android features tend to make a great demo, but not practical.  That's the biggest problem with Android OS, some of their features add more code, require more resources and then cause battery drain.

    I feel your pain, but this is a positive feedback look. Inventions such as the one being patented decrease the frequency with which you must touch the device, and since your "not used" means "not touched", the current system iOS uses will become much less useful in the future.

    I find that, for me at least, touching it is much more satisfying than crossing my eyes (and the former often precedes the latter).
