My Cube keeps crashing, think something wrong with cpu!

Hi,

My Cube is always crashing. It used to ALWAYS crash in 9.2, like everytime it was used for more than 30 minutes or something.

Then when I upgraded to OS X.1 in the hope of stopping the crashes, it still crashes frequently, not everytime but close like every three or something and once it crashes once it always crashes in the next boot in the middle of booting.

When it crashed in 9.2, it just hung. When it crashes in OS X.1 though, it has writing across the screen saying stuff like:

Unresolved kernel trap (cpu 0): ...

Latest crash info for cpu 0:

...

panic (cpu 0): ...

Latest stack backtrace for cpu 0:

...

panic: We are hanging here ...

(I especially like the last line they have!4) Anyway, I think that maybe something is wrong with my CPU. How can I check? What can I do?

Thanks for any help!

Hmmm... Well, I'd suggest taking it in for some serious service, even if your warranty is over. That sounds quite odd and no, Cubes don't all crash every hour jaydog.

Could be a faulty RAM or loose RAM issue, too?

I also left a message on Apple support boards and they suggested I check the HD for bad sectors, using drive setup on booting from a CD. I also used Gauge Pro to test the RAM for 24 hours with no problems. The installation is a clean install. I've also unplugged all non-Apple peripherals.

I'm gonna try and swap out RAM modules to see if I can identify a DIMM with causes it to crash. Any advise? <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

I have had a similar problem, though not so severe. I brought it up on the Genius board. I thought it might be related to the Cinema Display, or to 9.2. I have still not gone on to OSX.1 since my printer is an HP OfficeJet G55 combination. I do have 1.5 GB of RAM in there..., but I often hang up in Internet Explorer.
