Ram Quality Question
Hello,
I want to buy my iBook a 512 meg chip. Some prices:
Small Dog: $179
Kensington: $450
Is this a YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR kind of purchase? Or are Kensington and Mac Zone (etc.) just charging more than double the price for the heck of it? I certainly would save up for the Kensington if I thought the Small Dog might make a mess of my beloved iBook.
Your opinions are welcomed

So don't buy the Kensington. I've never bought from SmallDog, so I can't tell you whether their RAM is quality or not.
Whatever you buy, make sure it has a lifetime warranty so you can send it back if it doesn't work.

Places like Mac Zone and Mac Warehouse were giving me prices in the $350 - $450 range. I guess they overcharge because they can.
Glad I asked. I'll probably go with Crucial on your recommendation....

They list Micron memory for $205. It's the same as Crucial.

You might want to check dealram.com as well.

I use RamJet. I've bought lots and lots of ram from them before, and it's always worked great. I have read that they also have good tech support if problems arise.
But, if you have 2-2-2 ram, then installing a 2-2-3 makes all the ram run at 2-2-3 (slower). I think OWC sells 512 2-2-2 ram. They have a good reputation. Their website: http://www.macsales.com
