B&W G3 and QUE FIRE! 8X

I have been having a hard time getting an 8x4x24 QUE Fire burner working with my B&W G3 400. I have tried everything from checking the cable connections to checking firewire extensions. I know for a fact that the drive works because it works with the iMac sitting right next to it. Could the firewire ports on the G3 be bad? I tried both of them. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, I running OS 9.1 with Toast 5 titanium. I checked the extensions for toast.

    Can you get any other FireWire device to work with the blue and white?



    Also do you have the latest firmware in the G3?



    It is supposed to improve Firewire performance on that machine...

    (I don't believe you can install OS9 without the firmware update but maybe you swapped the drive into the machine or something)



    Have you run software update lately?



    I think there are a number of updates that only become available after you upgrade to MacOS9.2 so you might want to take the plunge on that if you have a speedy connection or a friend who does.

    Thanks for the response. I will try that and let you know what happens. First I will updated the firmware. Then the OS.
