CD-R inconpatable with my computer?

I just bought a 50 pack of CD-Rs and they are recongnizable to my sony burner and my CD player but for some reason when I try to stick then in my first gen. Tibook, it spits them back out at me. Any ideas if this is an incompatability issue or if there is a way to fix this?
