Opening a Quicksilver CD tray

I have a Quicksilver G4 that won't turn on. I figure I can get it to turn on if I get the CD tray open but, aside from pulling the glued-on faceplate off, I can't get it to open. Can someone else recommend a different course of action?

How does it not turn on? Doesn't even power up or doesn't boot off the drive? If it powers up, you can hold down option while starting and eject the tray then, I think. You should also be able to eject it in open firmware, but don't mess with that unless everything else fails.

I finally pried it open and performed a clean install to get the drive working; this particular Quicksilver (733) is running OS 9.2.1 (mine at home (dual GHz) is running 10.1.3) and it would stall just before showing the happy Mac; if it was an extension conflict I couldn't get to turning off the extensions anyway. But it's fixed now.
