Well admitably a 17 inch design is needed, the market for it is still a great percentage but PC market is disappearing. Still maybe a 17 inch retina MacBook will come, maybe a new category like MacBook Expert or Large.
MacBook Pro 11 inch not needed a market for MacBook Mini's is disappearing. 11 inch laptops are to small and failing. This is where a 12 inch IPad is needed, (as said next).
They had a 12" powerbook. The Air seems to serve this market well enough. The 13" macbook pro really isn't difficult to transport either bare or in a backpack or notebook case. Apple's lineup can feel limiting at times, but I don't think this is one of those areas. You don't begin to see more significant hardware specs below the 13" form factors. Some of them manage to implement the 640m along with a dual core cpu. 13" QM models might also exist, but I haven't looked that closely.
Motion is the red-headed bastard step-child Apple created because they couldn't turn Shake into a motion graphics application. After Effects Lite essentially.
It's quite a specialised (and expensive) app though and not really suited for Apple's main audience - Nuke/Shake are for feature films with heavy visual effects:
Motion was a better fit for Apple. I have a feeling they might merge it in with FCPX now that the render engine is the same. It makes sense to have editing and effects in one app like Smoke does now. Adobe should do the same bringing the editing features from Premiere into AE and just drop the Premiere brand.

Referring to my actual quote, it was not an anti religious comment as you seem to have taken it, it was a light hearted comment based on the fact you can find an opposite to almost everything written in the bible by looking in both the old and new testament if you try hard enough. That was relevant to the thread at the time.
Over on MacRumors the same article says MBA will get retina in June. I want a MBA and I want retina - just not sure if Apple can do this just yet. Maybe 2014?
What will distinguish MBA and MBP if they both have RD?
I'm trying to figure out what to do here. I currently have a late 2010 MBA 13" top end model (4G/256/2.13 Core 2 Duo, an iPad3, and just got a mini-iPad. I am primarily using the mini-iPad and bought the Logitech Ultimate keyboard to use my iPad as a laptop replacement. However, I work for a major corporation that is stuck on Windows and uses AT& Global Network for remote access, making Mac-based access problematic (I use Parallels for remote access most of the time.
The 2010 MBA is serving me well, but I am lusting after an i5/i7 and a smaller form factor since I now commute on a scooter. Most of the time, I use the MBA plugged into an external monitor and carry it to the office so that I don't have to use the company issued PC laptop. For me, I want the power in a portable size that can be plugged in to an external monitor, or used lightly when I don't have an external.
Perhaps I am an exception, but I still see an 11" MBA as a good alternative for a commuter machine when you are plugged into an external monitor the majority of the time.

Well, MBP Retina price increase for 4GB to 8GB RAM and 500GB HDD to 128GB SSD = $500 compare with 13" MBP base line.
Non Retina 13" with 8GB RAM + 128 GB SSD = $1499. Which means Retina + maybe bigger battery for $200.
If MBA increase price for Retina around $150, I am not sure they will sell well.. Specially 11" with more than $100 price hike.
Those Wall street will bash Apple for there is no entry level sub $1000 laptop and dump the stock.
I think Apple should drop 11" MBA line. So iPad will replace them.
Apple should simplify prodcut line as follow:
13" MBA non Retina 4GB + 64GB SSD for $999.
13" MBA Retina 8GB RAM + 128GB SSD for $1299.
MBA should have 8GB RAM(for non Retina), 128GB & 256GB SSD(for both) option.
MBP line should drop old model and keep only new body design.
13" MBP non Retina 8GB RAM + 128GB SSD for $1399.
13" MBP Retina 8GB RAM + 128GB SSD for $1599.
Both should have 16GB RAM, 256GB & 512GB SSD option.
15" should be do the same.
Currently Apple has too many models for Macbook line. If they add Retina in MBA, they will have problem with inventory soon.
If Apple reduce the product line as above, people who wants 13" with Retina, they can buy MBA. People want more RAM & SSD then buy MBP.
Also Apple should add external BD recorder/player to replace old DVD superdrive to shut people off.

I am going to agree about the 11" Air though maybe lower the prices for next year and then take away some models the year after.
I'd go 13" Air, 13" rMBP (which we might as well soon call the MBP), and 15" MBP.
