itunes died and wont come back!!! please help
um, guys I really desparately need your help. Â*I was listening to a song in my itunes that I have listened to before and just before it ended i got the beachball of death. Â*I had to restart my ibook. Â*Everything booted back up fine, but my icons were a different size and no longer set the way I had them before. Â*that was fixable. Â*So i go and try to startup itunes again to see what happened and it gives me this "the iTunes music library cannot be read because an unknown error occurred (-208 )." then I click okay and another window pop up saying "The application iTunes has unexpectedly quit. Â*The system and other applications have not been affected." Â*I had a backup on an external harddrive so all of my songs including the program itself is still there, but whether i try to start it from the hard drive or the external it gives me the same error message. Â*what in the F do I do? Â*this really sucks. Â*Thanks in advance. also tried to re-download it and that gave me the same error message.

EDIT- and you may want to run a disk repair utility. It may be a minor problem with your drive. Don't worry too much, I only said that because most people need to be reminded to check their drives now-'n-then.

#1) I use OS9. I have no idea how to do this on OSX.
EDIT- (I gotta start answering the Q's without editing my posts) Oh and here are where the files are located (Please excuse my DOS). Macintosh HD*/Documents/iTunes/iTunes Music Library. The folder "iTunes Music" just stores MP3's. Second: Macintosh HD*/System Folder/Preferences/iTunes Preferences. Bye, Bye files. Third: Macintosh HD*/System Folder/extensions/ and delete both "iTunes Extension" and "iTunes help". There are also a slew of "Nomad this-and-that" MP3 players. you can turn those off in the extensions manager. Just sort by package.
*Probably renamed

PS: "If I melted Dry Ice, could I swim and not get wet?" No, you wouldn't get wet, but you could still choke.
