When I first read this article "expanding operations", my first thought was, those poor people from Palestine.
I wish Apple would not invest in evil countries.
R u one of those Pal Death Cult people sending their kids to blow up themselves in buses and pizzarias? American Indians have more reasons to blow up everything around them and they do not kill their own children like Palestinians, no?
I don't read propaganda.
There are not a billion Muslims trying to wipe them out.
Every country has a right to defend themselves, only when they use disproportionate methods does it become wrong. Israel has done this many times.
Did your Pal mother also tell you also to blow yourself up if you want freedom and hate shame? Looking for a bus with kids?
Apple will reportedly be bolstering its presence in Israel with a new development center in the Ra'anana Industrial zone, with the facility said to be staffed by former employees of Texas Instruments.
While the former TI employees are said to have worked largely on short-range communication technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC, the report suggests that Apple will take the new development center in a different stategic direction.
This move seems as a great response to competing Korean proprietory assets theft . Nobody can catch Apple now.
Building a retail store is not an investment in the technological advancement of the industry in Australia, it's just a shop to sell stuff.
Apple took the moral high ground in China, where they take advantage of low wages and no so stringent working conditions as we have and expect in the West.
Just like ripping us of with prices, why can't they be different?
Your original grumble was about Apple investing in the country, not the nature of the investment.
As for China, it's all relative, Apple and its contractors pay higher than average compared to other workers in the region.
There may well be aspects of Australia which the Chinese may find disdainful, I'll wager you'd be amongst the first to protest should China start dictating to Australia what to do.
As for being ripped off with pricing, if you don't like the price, don't buy! Nobody is forced into buying Apple product, if the price is wrong, either the company adjusts or goes out of business.
Putting aside the politics, it makes sense for Apple to make the technological investment in regions who have the able, skilled people with the environment and track record for technology research and progress.
Note: Let's go back to talking about technology and what this new plant might mean for Apple. Let's talk about categories of recent innovations out of Israel and what that might mean for Apple.
If there's nothing to be said in that regard, please don't post any more about the fact that this part of the world tends to not like itself very much.
Yes you're right. I much prefer it when technology blogs stick to technology and the benefits it can bring to people. I shouldn't of let myself get sucked into the politics of the region by an angry person, I apologize (also noticed you removed my post - understandable). Its just that I've met many good and talented people over there that don't deserve to be judged so harshly...peace y'all!

Can you start a conversation without being insulting ? "Grumble" and "Don't like the price, don't buy".
How about thinking for a change, how can I purchase Apple products elsewhere ?

So I will stop when they stop, is that okay with you ?

Interesting, you insult an entire nation of people by calling them an evil country and yet you say I'm insulting by using the word grumble, which is a synonym for complain, protest or criticise. I concede that grumble can be perceived as being "loaded", but your original post was indeed, a criticism.
As for don't like the price, don't buy, Apple doesn't provide an essential service nor are you compelled to purchase Apple products, especially when there are so many competing products in the market.
Israel has some of the best techies in the world ! Great programmers and innovative tech minds.
If I had to guess, I would suggest that this move is part of a coordinated defence initiative to counter China. Put that together with Apple bringing some of its manufacturing back to the States and the closeness of the Obamas with Tim Cook and before that Steve Jobs and you have the potential for some type of long running defence plan..... but then again I believe in UFOs....
My post to post 16 has been removed.
May I ask why?
He has advocated the murder of people and his post stays and mine doesn't.
He has a history of posting nothing but drivel, yet he stays on as some sort of "comedy relief".
You moderators have strange rules.

Israel is the most loyal friend of US and Apple execs know that in the last 30 years all hi tech companies who heavily got involved in tapping human creative hard working potential in Israel became leaders in the world hi tech competition, The biggest names in US hi tech today were in Israel decades ago. Third largest share of NYSE hi tech firms belongs to Israel. They are just "modest" about it.

Hey, stop spreading baseless hatred here. Political forums are best for that. Israel is the most loyal and true friend of US and the closest country to the US in social outlook and the spirit of the American Dream

No, that's how wars get started. And that's how infants behave.
We'd want neither here. Be the bigger man, don't reply, and just report if it breaks the rules.

Scary.....
I am really excited to hear about this news. I live in Ra'anana and would love to work for Apple.
When will this move happen? Where can I send my CV?
