I also wonder if it will be dangerous for people to actually step inside the store. Who's to say that you aren't signing your first born away, since you might have consented to that as soon as you agreed to enter through the door? And who's to say that there aren't full body scanners installed in the walls, doing full naked scans of everybody, including peeking into your wallet and retrieving all sorts of info?
Come on google wouldn't do that, or would they?
The same company that reads your personal gmail emails so they can sell you stuff.

Well, why not copy a wildly successful business model? Apple leads, the rest follow. It's a fact of life in the tech universe. Everybody sits back, laughs at and criticizes the new Apple product or business model. Jerk pundits predict doom and epic fail (see pundits lambasting the rumored smart watch), the troll armies mass and attack, but Apple succeeds and suddenly the other faux innovators turn on their copy machines. It has been this way for over a decade now.

So let Microsoft and Google build their frick'n stores that look just like Apple's. Customers know the difference. They know they are walking into a copycat store and  looking at copycat products. They're not stupid. They know who did it first. The utter failure of current Microsoft stores just proves the point.
I always wondered about the same thing. If Apple are crap, how come EVERY company copies them one way or another?

Isn't it amazing how much money "free" spyware can make!

So now we may have a (free) spyware retail store.

So they'll sell ads in a store now? How quaint. Perhaps they'll sell xerox copies of Apple technology too.

what would they sell, your personal information?

Picture this: You go into the store and tell the associate that you need a new phone case for your upcoming ski trip. As the associate escorts you to a selection of cases, travel agents flank you and begin making pitches for ski trip packages.

Hey, it worked for AOL (at least until they destroyed their business). Google wouldn't even need cash registers in the store. They simply hand out CDs with all their latest spyware installed and disguise it as a game.

Of course, the latest iMac and MBP owners would be safe.....

Why does a company that gives everything away for free need a store? image

They'd have their Nexus models and their Chromebooks… that's it. Maybe for-pay DVDs (hey, costs money to print 'em!) containing the entire suite of Google software. Take it home, pop it in, and every single application you have is uninstalled to make way for Google's equivalent. It also scans your entire machine and sends the entire contents of your hard drive straight to Google to save time.

But still, that's not enough to keep a store running, is it?

So the existence of the store will be supplemented by ads, just like all of Google's services.

I get it now. Google lures people into a fake storefront while Google's real customers (advertisers) are in the actual storefront watching you on CCTV. When they see what they like, they'll point you out and Google staff will copy the contents of your purse/wallet for "research".

The last few seconds of that video( @ 1:55) are very cool, where a friend asks what the view is like in the balloon, and the Glass user easily sends a picture out.
