Video Boards for G4 Cube

This is the thread I dread, as the answers are likely to be negative, I fear.

But, I would like to know what, if any, upgrades are available for the G4 Cube. The one I would like to take up is a 500 MHz with 1.5 GB memory, 32 MB of video memory and the 1 MB Kakside L2 cache. The Display card in here now is called a ATY,Rage6ag, model ATy,Rage6 by System Profiler. I kept the DVD as my drive, since I display out to a Cinema display.

What I want to do is run a second LCD display (the 15" I bought with it) OR use this to run a 23" HD Cinema display, and move the Cinema over to my 450 MHz Cube that runs silent, but deep.

Any suggestions on which way to turn?

I don't think there are any video upgrades available for the Cube. But here's a recommendation: open up your cube, and have a look at the graphics card. If I remember correctly, it's not shaped like a standard AGP card you get for a PC, which is why there's no upgrade cards for it. But compare it closely with a PC AGP card, and see if it would be possible to make one fit by taking off the metal flange. If so, then I'll refer you to:

<a href="http://www.xlr8yourmac.com"; target="_blank">www.xlr8yourmac.com where you'll find a wealth of info on flashing a standard PC GeForce2 or GeForce3 to work in a Mac. Good Luck!

Well as a Cube owner I can say there ARE other boards out there to upgrade to, if you want to look. My Cube, like yours, has the Rage128 board, but there is also a Radeon board available, and even a rare GeForce2MX board as well, which came as BTO options on the Cube. Check eBay, Deal sites (www.dealnn.com, www.dealmac.com) and ask questions, and you should find something.
