can I check Hotmail mail with Apple Mail app?

I have been Outlooke Express/Entourage dependent for years because they are the only email apps I know of that let you actually synch your online hotmail account with an application.



I saw vaguely that you could actually use ANY mail app to download Hotmail or even Yahoo mail.



Can anyone tell me how to do this?

    dunno. try setting up a hotmail through express then see what the settings are. that's about the only thing i can think of.

    I think you can pay MSN for pop access to it. Then you can check it with any program you want. Take my advice and quit using it though. Hotmail is a sinking ship... (from the mid 90s)

    I know yahoo stoppped free POP mail access earlier this past spring--I had to stop using my yahoo account with mail.app.



    I believe it's the same deal with hotmail.



    But I also think you can pay subscribe for POP access to these accounts with mail clients, if that's worthwhile to you.
