Image Capture vs Mounting USB drive

I have a Nikon 880 camera and I use Image Capture to archive the images. However, it refuses to download over half the images and I'm at a loss as to how to get them off there. Is there any way in OSX to mount the camera's drive as a USB disk so I could try dragging the suckers off there?

I used to be able to mount the camera in OS9, but I have a new G4 now and I've lost the Nikon Software CD

Any assistance in getting these valuable photos off the camera would be greatly appreciated!

It should mount as a HD in the Finder when you plug it in. Try it and see...

Nope... the camera doesn't appear on the desktop or listed as a hard drive...

Get a CF card reader. It will mount as a disk when you plug it in. It will save your camera's batteries. If you get a FireWire reader, transfers will be significantly faster as well.
