China is largely bereft of any moral sensibilities. That's what socialism does to the soul of a people. (It's so easily and repetitively seen when you look at Russia, North Korea, Cuba, former East Germany)
Not wanting to go into the politics of it all. But it's also fair to point out that the Leader of the Free World, USA, went out and lied over WMD and commenced an illegal war, all causing the death of 100,000+ innocent civilian deaths and millions in displaced people. All in the name of oil and hate of a dictator. So let's not throw stones in a glass house.
@spamsandwich River of Pearls. 'nuff said. Y'know, Ivy League was actually paid for in chinese blood, so lesson-giving might not be appropriate.
@solipsismx Indeed, Americans are getting scared...
As for me, I think this is obviously a ploy by the Chinese government, either to leverage some control over iOS, or simply a grab for money, either by the government or by some greedy official. Would not be the first time. However, I may be wrong, and I feel the aggresiveness towards the chinese on this particular board is scary...
What the heck is going on with America? China breaking into corporate computers to steal our best work, Samsung keeps selling stolen product ideas, and thousands of Americans defend both of these regimes as if they owe them their lives. Sad.
Actually the Chinese need protection from their own farmers and government. Thousands of dead pigs polluting the water source for the City of Shanghai and now thousands of dead ducks.
The EU and several individual European countries are prosecuting Apple because the warranty is only a year, which does not comply with local laws. Apple should stand for its products and offer a better warranty then the law requires. We’re going to need it with more and more Apple-devices glued together and almost impossible to repair.

A dictator who has killed 600,000+ of his own people.
We didn't get any benefit in oil. And we didn't lie. We were wrong, but being wrong is not lying. Especially when every other country, intelligence agency, and people in the world had the same conclusion.
Do I support the Iraq war? Not really. But these lies about our intentions and the aftermath are just vile and wrong.

Akac, you must be very young. At the time, before the war commenced, millions of people marched saying the USA was wrong, telling lies in fact. Security officials resigned before hand, for that reason. Was, is, always will be a commercial enterprise dressed up as national security.
Akac, stand by your convictions and tell us your name.

Not that it matters now but UK, French, and US intel had similar info. It was later found out to be wrong.

See; it's this exact kind of blind sheep gullibility that allowed the whole thing to take place.

Yeah, exactly. It was found out to be wrong; then the US government said "screw it; lets ignore that fact, lie to the American people and the world; and then bombs away mother f-r."

Samsung is not a "regime"...

No, it's not.
apple is better than their recent after-sales practices.. always was.
What "recent "sales practices""? The same "sales practices" they've had for over a decade?
Frigging trolls.

This is the tune and Apple has to dance. Until it becomes economically unfeasible for Apple, this will be the norm.

And wasn't at all in power to suit US interests. Wasn't at all incited by US diplomacy to start a war. Not in this reality.

Or Apple can use its cash reserves and pull out of China. That would send a very, very interesting signal to the world ^^
Besides, I hear that pulling out is better than using condoms in the eye of God (not voyeurism at all though).

"a government led crusade against the Cupertino company"
"Ultimately, the smear campaign backfired..."
"anti-Apple rhetoric..."
Sounds like another DED article. Is Mikey Campbell another one of his pseudonyms?

I don't know how old you are but... Grow up!
It was too late. The war already started.

I hope not. I like Chinese people. I don't like their government. As a matter of fact, I don't much like ours either.

So true.
Apple must be seen by the power hungry China Gov as a threat.
So the China is trying to turn the people off Apple, before too many in China see Apple as superior to the China Gov.
Most China people are now beyond this China Gov BS, I'm sure they are having a quiet private chuckle over this.
Careful China Gov, Apple may be starting a democratic religion !
