Not once will you ever see a post from me requesting an iPhone larger than 5". That is not to say I wouldn't be very happy with one, but I think 4.8" is the sweet spot. I used 5 inches as an example for my ppi calculation. Not once did I say that 5" and larger were the most popular. Larger phones, phones with screens between 4.5" and 4.9", are a large part of the market. Every flagship Android model falls in that range, and those are the most popular phone models outside the iPhone. Preemptively, that the iPhone is the most popular phone is not evidence that people prefer a 4" screen.

Why don't you provide evidence to support your claim? There is no logical reason to think that providing more choices would not result in more sales. That's why Apple sells the iPhone 4, 4S, and 5 at one time! If next year Apple sells the 4S, 5, 5S, and a new larger model, do you expect sales to decline? I gave him a recent Business insider poll with proof and his retort is "well that survey is flawed because of the wording" I am sure he can find some old poll from 2012 or 2011 before large displays became really popular where people prefer a small iPhone. We will be vindicated when a large iPhone is released possibly this year but more likely next.
I don't think Apple wants to start fragmenting their screen sizes like Android did. LOTS of people are very happy with 4" screens including myself. If they did increase the screen size, they should at least keep the same resolutions to make it easier for the developers.
I'm happy with the iPhone 5, but if Apple were to make a 3.5" screen again, I'd choose that over the current one. Not only is the phone smaller, I don't see that much benefit to the current size. Photo's don't benefit from the new AR and I don't see much gain from the extra vertical pixels. Then again, I'm weird, and don't follow trends often.
If they make a larger screen, I certainly hope it will be an additional size to the current one.

You must have missed the post that the next two iPhones are still from Steve Jobs so we still have to wait and see, I still do not mind 4 inch but about 4.5 inches would be not to big or to small for most people, do you have a opinion on the best screen size?
My choice would be to keep the incredibly successful 4" iPhone and make a 5" one too. For those who've said "if you want big why not go all the way to the iPad mini", try sticking one in your pocket.
Based on what I see downtown I think the target market for large phones is young women. For them a larger size is no problem because they carry the phone in their purse and type with two hands. Those I've talked to in my office would never consider going back to a phone smaller than 4.7".
For a young demographic higher resolution would be a must. With Android focused on 1080x1920, Apple would have to at least get close with their 5" model. If iOS 7 multiplied all legacy apps by 1.5 the new phone could sport a 960x1704 display.
I don't know if Apple will ever offer a choice of size, however. While it seems like the only factor that some people would never compromise on (I will never buy an iPhone while it's stuck at 3.5" or 4"), it would increase costs by a significant amount and might not increase sales enough to cover it.
I do note, however, that Apple will soon be rejecting any apps that don't support 640x1136 so it does look like they may be priming developers for a new resolution.

According to information, the following two phones from Apple has been designed under the guidance of the legendary Steve Jobs. If we keep the tradition of naming devices that iPhone 5s and iPhone 6.

Second...because the LTE iPad mini doesn't fit comfortably in one's jeans/pants/coat pocket, of course. A five inch phone doesn't have to be "better"...it just has to be a viable solution for enough people to make Apple money. It just might be, but I'm not holding my breath.

The mini is about screen experience which is the usual argument for the larger phone screen. Well, the LTE mini delivers that screen and cellular connectivity.
I really hope the iPhone 5S or whatever they want to call it will have some significant changes to it. The only change which 4 and 4S was the S on it...LOL! Well and also the antenna placement was move.
