Outlook to Mail.app

Here's my question:

I use Outlook Express on a beige G3 266 (which, in my opinion, is too old for X), and Mail.app on an iBook 600. Is there a way to export my e-mails from Outlook on the beige to Mail on the iBook. I do have an ethernet network going and I tried copying the dump from Outlook, but Mail doesn't want it, and neither does Outlook in Classic. I can open the dump and read it, in BBEdit for example, but I would like the ease of use and navigability of Mail. Does anybody have any suggestions?

did you try to go here ?

(you have to be in Mail.app)

File > Import Postbox (or something like that)

you can then easy import your old mails.

I have most certainly tried this, and that is actually partly the reason for my asking. You see, if you try to import Outlook into Mail, Mail opens (it actually activitates) Outlook - which runs in classic - and communicates with it. Your mails thus get transferred. The problems begin when Mail can't start up your Outlook Express, as in my case, because the targeted version of OE resides on another computer.

Caution: advise coming out of my ass so proceed with skeptism.

First, save your "OE User" file from iBook to another folder or onto disk. Next time you network the two comp. together find "OE User" folder from beige G3 and then drag and replace to the iBook's Outlook Express folder "OE User" location. iBook will ask you that there already exist same folder and that would you want to replace over it. Select "yes" and then it will write over it. Disconnect Appletalk/ Appleshare. Now follow instructions from Mail.app on importing e-mails from OE. I recently switched from OE to Mail.app (still waiting for M$ OE OSX.x version!). It's not hard...afterall i did it and it went fine.
