I have been trying to burn this CD a couple of times now. It is a Mac/ISO hybrid in Toast Deluxe 4.1.2. And I keep getting the errors. I haven't changed any settings since I last successfully burned a CD, and am using the same batch of disks. What is going on?

check:
- are u using the right cdr's ?
- at the right speed?

The only thing that I am doing differently from successful burns is that i am burning Mac/ISO hybrid instead of Files and Folders. These CDs have worked before, and I have tried burning at 8x (my drives max), 4x, 2x and even an excruciatingly slow 1x

Toast recommends using the Compare command from the Utilities menu as a possible solution. Don't know if that will help but it might be able to narrow down the problem.
That error simply means that what was written to the CD doesn't match the data it was copying. There could be several reasons why that happened.

I ran the Compate command and
this is what it told me: 43 errors/mismatches out of 266 files. You say there are several reasons...care to elaborate?

Also, just because it fails verification doesn't mean it didn't burn correctly necessarily. Have you tried those discs to see if they work?

I've started to, but it'll take hours to test all of the files, and it is extremely important that everything work correctly. I'm scared that i'll miss something. I suppose that with the information I got from the Compare command I can start testing, but what it looks like (see link above) is that almost every important file was affected.

Almost 600 posts, and I still haven't figured out the difference between Edit and Reply

No. But I updated to 4.1.3, and the only difference now is that I only have 40 errors. I suppose that's better, but still.
