All has been good here. Most outages affect only a small percentage of users. When you have hundreds of millions of users, there's a big chance on any given day that someone will complain.

I remember one issue in two years - not bad at all, I would think. iCloud is one of the better services around. It's free, performance is good, and they don't steal my data.

    2) If you want the Push features of iCloud to your devices you can always turn on Forwarding on your Gmail account. I've never had an issue with this, and if there is an issue I can always fall back to Gmail.

    3) I don't hate Google They treat us like Eloi but that's their business model. It is what it is. I do use them for a private domain email for about $5 a month since it's much easier than hosting and maintaining an email server myself and I know it will be reliable. That's worth the expense and don't care what they might be grabbing from that account... at least at this point. I don't hate Samsung either but the level of trust I have with Samsung is non-existant, I have trust in Google when it comes to reliability but not my personal data being minded and sold, and with Apple I trust them not to mine and sell my data, but losing trust in the reliability of their cloud services. It's really comes down to which I personally care more about.

Points well taken. Also, I was surprised by your reference to Eloi because I confused it with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ooloi

I've also received a bunch of spam over the last couple days. Most of it seems to be from Russian IP addresses. They've been pretty good with iCloud. Not as good as Gmail but mostly effective. I probably about 40 in my inbox from the last 2 days.

I am posting here just to express my frustration with Apple.  I have a business presentation in 90 minutes.  Cloud services are out for me.  My Me.com email is out.

Google to the rescue.  I am able to share my presentation materials via my Gmail.

iCloud calendars quit working dependably for us.  Enter Google Calendars.

We used to post websites created in iWeb to Mobile Me.  Now we publish them to Dropbox, Shutterfly or Google.

Small business needs dependable services.  iCloud has not been that, at least so far.

If the presentation, or data in general, is of real importance, I would never rely on Internet Services only. Rather, I'd use them as a backup, just like my bank uses the power grid as their backup to their diesel generators.

Still, hope you presented well, and gained some new clients.

Strange. Although I'm not in the US I haven't received any spam. True, I'm careful sharing my .mac email and use other services for other services, but our country is being hit by DDOS attacks as of late. I even received an email from Akamai recently 4/12 (body text of received email):

We are alerting you about a recent wave of DDoS attacks across the Netherlands targeting major financial institutions and other organizations.

We have been receiving calls for assistance from some of our customers. Although not an Akamai customer we are reaching out incase you too are impacted or have concerns.

Our customer websites are 100% available protected 24/7 against the threat of malicious attacks fully backed-up by Akamai's global specialist team.

We are here to help should you have immediate security concerns or are interested in discussing preventive methods.

Therefore it doesn't matter if Apple's service works or not.

Or is that not what you meant?

I have noticed a slight uptick in "commercial email" in my  dot me account in the last 3-5 days as well, although I did not check the IP addresses. In my experience it was mostly semi-legitimate looking advertising not outright 'spammy' spam but an uptick none the less. Nothing can touch my MXlogic spam filtering on my business email though. They are the best! IMO...

I am, I got 24 emails from various women and email addresses, all with mostly the same message, from Friday to yesterday, but then stopped around yesterday noon (right about when this outage was reported).

I hadn't seen space1nvaders comment when I posted mine. You order one Russian bride and this is what happens¡

    Here are some examples:

You have to watch right now because women are already calling for this video to be pulled from the web. They claim it is unfair for men to have so much power over women. What do you think? http://?????????????????????
Hi!!! Aaliyah, here're your newest program for picking up!!! we're Selected for You: http://????????????????????? Good luck!!!
Want a girlfriend? This will work for you. Want a bunch of random hotties? This will work for you. Want your ex girlfriend back? Just use the method revealed in the video http://?????????????????????

    Amateur hour.

PS: The email adresses mostly use the RU top level domain (also saw LV for Latvia in there) but the hyperlinks in the emails mostly post to .ch for Switzerland.
