How do you remove pref panes from the system prefs?
I recently switched from my PowerBook G3 to a PowerMac G4 and to preserve my settings/mail/etc, I copied the entire "home" folder over to the new computer. Now, however, there are three extra items in the system prefs that were present on my old computer but they are not installed on my new one. They still show up, even though I don't have anything installed for them. How can I remove them?

For System-wide preferences panes, follow this path:
Root being your harddrive
root > System > Library > PreferencePanes
You will need to be logged in as root to remove anything in this folder, or do it through the terminal under sudo.
For preference panes specific to your account, follow this path: "user" being your homespace
root > Users > "user" > Library > PreferencePanes
Hope this helps.
