The Changing Desktop of 10.2

I really love the change picture option of the desktop in 10.2. I have noticed, however, that every time it changes the picture, it accesses the hard drive and makes the usual "hard drive accessing noise."



Is there any way to place the folder of desktop pictures into memory and avoid this? Any other solutions?



I have a PB DVI, OS X 10.2.1, 1 gig RAM.
