Alleged 'iPhone 5S' parts show FaceTime camera, home button, vibration motor

Images of supposed "iPhone 5S" components continue to leak out, with the latest purported pieces showing off what could be the camera and home button from Apple's next smartphone.

Friday saw the emergence of the newest supposed iPhone 5S components, including a front camera, home button, and vibrating motor, according to Letem Svetem Applem. The images cannot be fully verified as components in a future iPhone, but the report says that, due to the appearance of country-specific serial numbers, it appears likely that the so-called "iPhone 5S" will launch at the same time in the Czech Republic that it will in other countries.

The report presumes that a Czech Republic launch will come in the first wave immediately after the next iPhone launches in the United States and other first-tier markets.

The home button shown off in the pictures is markedly different from another alleged home button that showed up in March. That March report, though, also showed a supposed "iPhone 5S" vibrating motor, and that component looks similar to the one that appeared on Friday.

The motor appears to have a dual-head vibrating component. A report in April posited that the dual-head design of a similar part leaked then suggested that the component was from a low-cost iPhone. In the iPhone 5, Apple used a single-head rotational vibration motor with a counterweight.

Over the past few months, images of supposed iPhone components have gone from an intermittent trickle to a steady stream. As the component images have increased, so too have the rumors surrounding the as yet unannounced device.

Speculation still persists that Apple might integrate fingerprint scanning as a security measure for the next iPhone, though that rumor appears to have lost steam as a launch approaches. Another piece of speculation, based on the appearance of multi-colored SIM trays, has Apple launching the next iPhone in an array of color options.

Apple isn't expected to launch its next smartphone until the fall of this year, though some observers and fans hold out hope that next week's Worldwide Developer Conference could see a surprise unveiling. Apple's suppliers, though, appear to be prepping for a September launch.

I wish they would move the two speakers from the very bottom of the phone to the sides of the home button so you don't have to cup your phone with your hand to hear the sound clearly. That way the speakers would face you when you are watching a video or really anything that plays sound.

I think the home button is more possible to belong to an iPad rather than an iPhone...

So... no sensor under the home button?

    Yawn.

I'm thinking an article about purported parts should really only be reported if there is something *newsworthy* about said parts.

    This is not that.

I'm glad someone managed to get in one reasonable comment before the Trolls arrived.

Oh, probably someone with a borderline personality disorder. It's funny how these forums are so attractive to people with splitting (psychology) disorder, aka all-or-nothing thinking. It's extreme tunnel vision to reduce Apple, a large company that touches society and governments in many many complex ways, down to a single value judgment over a perceived "lie."

Usually by this time, we've got a pretty good and fairly accurate handle on what to expect from the keynote announcements… It's notable that this time around, we're only three days from a major event like WWDC and the best we've got in the rumor mill is all pretty speculative and unconfirmed:

    - a possible iPhone 5S announcement (no solid ideas of release timing, actual features, etc.)

    - maybe a couple of minor Mac-related updates (ranging from macbook/mac air to iMini/mac pro… that's everything except the iMac… maybe…)

    - could be an iRadio announcement (or something…)

The only thing of any real certainty is what was already announced, the next iterations of iOS (simplified UI) and OSX.

Tim Cook has indeed doubled down. This is a far cry from last year's swirling (and mostly correct) expectations.

I'm sure looking forward to Monday!

The one speaker and one microphone, don't you mean.

Wow guys, that was a joke. One I definitely laughed out loud at. Don't be so defensive.

If the facetime camera has a connector plug into to the back that must mean there's a lid on the back of the next iPhone...
