PM speed bumps before Jan. 31st ?

Why would apple put out speed bumped pm's before Jan. 31st., which is when the "crystal clear savings " capaign ends? Is this promotion allowing them to clear out a little more " old inventory" before introducing new goods? Feed back is welcome

    The promotion is valid only for the specfic model numbers of the current towers, so it doesn't really matter when it ends. It's to clear out inventory of the old models both before and after the new ones are introduced.
