ibook keyboard smell..
hey there guys. I have an ibook and loaned to a person who was thinking about switching, and now will. the problem is that now that I have it back it wreaks of B.O. Is there any way to get that stench out? I have used, baking powder, alcohol, and deoderizing sprays, but nothing works. Any ideas or better yet, solutions would be great.

Find your friend's porn and have him buy you an new laptop.

But you could try sealing it in a bag with baking soda. Try not to get the B-soda in the computer parts.
that is tough my friend...even the chilly air and winds of wyoming won't shake that smell clean???
Thanks for the sympathy...
HAve u ever considered the new 12" cutie PB??

I want the big boy if I go that route, something about those illuminating keys has me giddy. I do like the 12" though. Now I just need the cash flow.
that stuff kicks ass.
you could try spraying a cloth with Frebreeze and then wiping down the keyboard.

hehe, that is actually the first thing I did. It worked for about an hour...that should give you an idea at how bad the smell was. It has yet to come back. I am going to compressed air it tomorrow though, I figure it couldn't hurt.
And it does kinda sound Seinfeldish. ...ijerry seinfeld. who is going to be e-laine?

damn, he wipe his armpits with it or what?
Did this "friend" insert a slice of ham into the Cd drive?
I recommend the dryer.. pack it in a pillow case and toss'er in with a bounce sheet.
flick.

Body Odor. A sweaty stench.
It seems to be cleared up now. Not sure what did it. I have let it air out, and keep wiping it down. that for sure, is the last time I loan it out. I am afraid of taking it to class and using it, and all the people around me moving due to the odor and think that it is me. That would suck...So for now, I am just trying to keep my cool. It will all be better. I hope.

Maybe he just had it in his gym bag (or knapsack... some of those things can be gross) and it was in sleep.
Does the fan on those (if they have one) go on when it is above a temperature in sleep mode?
Tell him to stick to Windoze: we don't need smelly-fingered Switchers.

that is probably where the smell carried over from...his PC.
I have to use a windows machine at work (over twice as fast as mine, but sooo much slower)
It takes me almost fifteen minutes of scrubbing with lye and coaltar to remove the dirty feeling.
blech...
