Slow Power Mac G4 Cube?
I've just switched my machines at work. I've moved from a 400MHz G4 tower, to a 450MHz G4 Cube.
They both have the same RAM (1.25GB, PC-100 SDRAM), the same hard disk (40GB IBM Deskstar, 7200rpm), and the same graphics card (stock on both machines).
But the Cube crawls. I can't believe the difference in speed. Jaguar is unusable, whereas with the 400MHz G4 you could almost live with it. I don't think I'm going to be able to use the Cube for the whole day. Yes it's that bad.
How can this be? The Cube is after all 50MHz faster. Is the Cube the worst machine Apple has ever designed (in terms of performance)?

Looking at the Xbench averages, Cubes outscore both Yikes! and Sawtooth towers, so I'd suspect there's something funny going with your Cube.
