10.2.4 + screwed desktop

anyone a clue?:::

I just installed 10.2.4 and now my desktop picture is screwed... I used to have Apple's built-in 'Solid Aqua Dark Blue' background, now it looks like:





This vertical pattern seems to appear with every 'solid' background, not with the pictures / abstract /... backgrounds.

Any clue how to restore my original background. I tried restarting and cleaning caches.



When I log in as a different user, these patterns don't appear...

    it's set to millions...
